Conversations with Emily Rush

Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Rush

Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was a competitive swimmer my entire life from the age of 6 through college. In high school I began to have shoulder issues. I started seeing a chiropractor who focused on treating the soft tissue injury and rehabbing it back to its fullest potential. After going through this, I realized it was what I wanted to do as a career later on. I wanted to be able to help people get back to what they want to do without any pain.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No road is truly smooth. My last year of chiropractic school was 2020. We went from treating patients in clinic, to doing case studies. This caused a small delay in our hands on learning but did teach us a lot as well.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a chiropractor that specializes in soft tissue injuries. I work at Airrosti, which stands for applied integration for the rapid recovery of soft tissue injuries, which is exactly what I do. I look to help get patients out of pain fast, but also give them the tools and education so they are not coming back with the same pain a few months later. One thing I am proud of is how I connect with patients. I love meeting new people and getting to know each patient so I can better serve them. I want to be able to help patients do the things that they love to do, whether it’s picking up their grandchild or running a marathon.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I have learned so much due to covid-19. The biggest thing I learned was that the world can change completely in just a matter of days. March 2020 went from going to the Houston Rodeo, to being in lockdown in a matter of 2 days. With that, I have learned to not take each day for granted. To do what you want and need to do and not assume that you can do it tomorrow or over the weekend
