Conversations with Jaimie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jaimie.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’ve always been drawn to spaces and how they make people feel. Even before I officially became an interior designer, I was constantly rearranging rooms and paying attention to light, layout, and details. Design came naturally to me long before it became my career.

I started out with a strong creative instinct and learned along the way how important function and planning are. I believe a space should not only look beautiful but also work well for the people living in it. The best designs feel effortless, even though a lot of thought goes into them.

Over time, I developed a style that feels modern, elevated, and personal. I’m inspired by fashion, architecture, and art, but my goal is never to follow trends. I want every space to feel like it truly belongs to the client and reflects how they live.

Today, I run my own design studio working on both residential and commercial projects. I feel grateful to do work that allows me to be creative while helping people love the spaces they’re in every day. My path hasn’t been linear, but every step has shaped who I am as a designer.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but it’s been a very rewarding one. Like any creative business, there are challenges that come with growth, responsibility, and evolving expectations. Learning to balance creativity with the realities of running a business took time, as did navigating different projects, clients, and timelines.

Each challenge taught me something valuable and helped me refine how I work and what I say yes to. Those experiences ultimately strengthened my perspective and made me more intentional about the kind of design and client relationships I value today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an interior designer focused on creating modern, elevated spaces that feel intentional, personal, and livable. I work on both residential and commercial projects, and I’m known for designs that are clean and contemporary but never cold. I pay close attention to scale, lighting, and details, because those are the elements that truly transform a space.

I specialize in full scale design where I can shape the entire experience, from layout and finishes to custom elements that make a space feel thoughtful and cohesive. My work feels refined yet approachable, with each space reflecting how my clients live and use their homes or businesses.

What I’m most proud of is the trust my clients place in me. Many of my projects come from referrals and repeat clients, which tells me the work resonates beyond just the final reveal. What sets me apart is my ability to bring clarity to the design process while creating spaces that feel elevated, personal, and effortless.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me is creating spaces that truly support the people who live or work in them. Design has the power to affect how we feel every day, and I take that responsibility seriously. I want my work to feel calm, inspiring, and lasting, not rushed or trend driven.

I also value relationships and trust. A successful project comes from understanding my clients, communicating clearly, and being fully invested in the process. When those things are in place, the design naturally falls into place as well.
