Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsay Tucker.
Hi Lindsay, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I studied photography in my home town Geelong, Australia 8 years ago. And started working in a studio with Peter Foster a well-known editorial photographer in Australia.
Since then I’ve worked independently as a portrait photographer.
And sometimes shooting music videos for local Austin artists and promotional videos for Austin aquarium.
I recently started shooting live music events for some local artists.
And I was hired as a second photographer for 2nd Gen film company, shooting weddings in Austin. I was recently promoted to lead photographer.
And I’m considering starting my own wedding photography company as this is definitely becoming my passion. I love shooting at weddings.
You have to really know your camera and be able to adjust for all the different lighting settings. It’s really helped me develop my technical skills much faster.
Now I’m using strobe lighting which has been a lot of fun playing with light, especially at events. I love using color where ever I can.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
At first, I was doing it more for fun so I didn’t feel a lot of pressure, but now that my skill level has advanced I’m definitely feeling more pressure to up my game.
And these past few months, all I think about is photography so it has definitely become my biggest passion.
And I think that’s a big part of becoming successful at something.
You need to live and breathe your craft if you want to be the best.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am known for shooting events and my portrait work. I love black-and-white photography, but the more I learn about lighting the more color I want to Incorporate.
I am also a business owner, I have a vending machine company.
Snackbaby Vending.
I supply vending machines to local business.
I have 32 machines in north Austin.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
