Hi Lindsey, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have been an esthetician for 12 years. I have always wanted to own my own business being creative. I have done makeup in Los Angeles/Hollywood and worked for Guess Jeans on styling the models for their website. I have always had insecurities about my skin and wanted to educate myself so I could help others. My passion is creating a safe space for those who need one and sharing my open heart with the world. Coupled with my passion for being creative and helping others feel good about themselves through beauty services, my shop is the perfect marriage of my passions. I opened up my Beauty Shop six years ago, Moon Gypsy Beauty. I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful and I am here to show you your magic.
My shop is not only a place to feel your best but also a space of empowerment. Reminding you of your magic and your personal power. I have noticed in my years of esthetics being alone in the treatment room with my clients that the world is missing a safe place.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road since covid. The effects of Covid really hit some of my clientele hard and The influx of people moving to Austin. Many of them had to move away or they just weren’t able to get their treat of beauty maintenance monthly.
When my clients are affected that of course affects me. Financially it has been a struggle losing so many clients with in a short period of time.
I am on the creative side of the business and learning the back office part of the industry has been a new experience but equally as important as the creative side.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in all Waxing services but truly specialize in intimate waxing services in the bikini area. Creating a safe and relaxed environment for my clients. I use a special hard wax and different techniques to create a comfortable waxing experience. I also provide custom facials using medical-grade botanical products for any skin concern, like fine lines and wrinkles, acne, sun spots, acne scars, preventative maintenance, Rosacea and more. Acne and acne scar facials are a specialty of mine. Available for all ages. I only use products with natural ingredients that I would use on myself. The product lines I use are effective and will provide results quickly with proper home care and professional treatments. I believe everyone deserves to feel beautiful and I am here to show you your magic. One of my favorite facials is the Crystal Healing Facial. I do a smoke cleanse with Palo Santo, Singing bowls and tuning forks to create the frequency of Love and Peace. I use different specific crystals on specific points on your body that hold the energy to nourish those parts of you and release what no longer serves you. The facial is relaxing, Hydrating, with a pressure point massage the helps release mucus, headaches, and tension. One of my favorite transformative services is The Lash Lift and tint and microblading. Low maintenance, always great results. Who doesn’t want to wake up ready for the day?

A place with love, wisdom, and tools to help you find balance and peace in your own life. A place without judgment that you can share what’s going on in your life and hopefully, I can help guide and share with my own personal wisdom and teachings from my own life experiences. I have a Wild Women Wander Group. Where we gather on Sundays for free where We support, laugh, dance, cry, journal, and share with one another. We meet by the water, share food, wander in nature, release what no longer serves us, invite in our highest selves, and lots of other magical things. I also will be having overnight Retreats at homes along the river. Where we reconnect with ourselves, our inner child, our creativity, our future selves, and other supportive women. I provide nourishing meals, snacks, and drinks. We go for wanders in nature, have different ceremonies for different intentions. Calling back and reconnecting with our true selves through community, vulnerability, nature, relaxation, and creative workshops.
My passion and purpose in this life is to show up for others. Whether in my beauty shop or out in the world and I’m eternally grateful for the opportunity.
Beauty is more than just what is on the outside. When you know you are loved and supported and when you feed your own soul, you will always GLOW from within.
