Conversations with Nancy Tkac

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nancy Tkac

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hello! I’m Nancy, and I’m delighted to welcome you to my world of events and mixology. My journey began in the structured corridors of the financial industry, where I spent years honing my skills in analysis, precision, and client service. While I thrived in that environment, I always felt a pull towards something more personal and creative—a way to connect with people on a deeper level and bring joy to their lives.

The turning point came during a family celebration I helped organize. Seeing the smiles, hearing the laughter, and feeling the warmth of the gathering ignited a passion in me that I couldn’t ignore. I realized that my true calling was to create memorable experiences for others, to be the architect of joy and connection. This revelation led me to combine my love for event planning and bartending into a business that serves others in the most delightful ways.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing great comes easy – unknown

Starting my business has undoubtedly been challenging. My guiding principle has been to take things one day at a time, as each day brings its own unique twists and turns. One valuable lesson I’ve learned is to avoid putting loose ice in an ice chest during the Texas summer. You may laugh but during one of our events, we ended up with a large block of ice because half the ice melted and then refroze when the ice chest was finally placed in the shade. Funny not funny but one of those challenging things we experience that helps us learn and continue growing!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
One unique aspect that sets us apart is the attention we give to the bar area. We got the drink part down and after working over 200 events, I’ve noticed that bars are often neglected despite the rest of the room being beautifully decorated. Typically, a bar might receive only a single floral arrangement, which is a missed opportunity for creating a cohesive and impressive atmosphere. By incorporating my creative touch, we’ve transformed this overlooked space, and the difference is striking. We consistently receive compliments on our bar decor, and it means a lot to me that our efforts are recognized and appreciated. Many guests even ask if the venue provided the decor, but the answer is always a proud “nope, that’s all us!”

What’s next?
Looking ahead, we are focused on growth and expansion. To keep up with the increasing number of event requests, we are planning to add more staff to our team. Our primary niche has been corporate events, where we continue to expand our network and establish strong connections. Additionally, we are branching out into the wedding industry, leveraging our expertise to create memorable and beautifully executed events in this newer market for our team.
