Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomi Mendoza.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Naomi Mendoza I am a 25 year old cosmetologist I graduated in 2019 with my cosmetology license. I have been a wax and brow specialist since 2019 starting in the corporate field I left in 2021 to be with Ilume and now 2025 I am officially my own boss! I have 2 fur babies a partner, a son and a huge family who supports me through every detail. I am so thankful. A lot of prayer and long nights and commitment to be where I am today!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not always been a smooth road! I love and am so thankful for every single of my clients even those who have seen me grow so much. From finding the perfect booking system, down to finding a specific wax and technique. Finding the perfect demographic for me, as a service provider we carry a lot mentally, physically, and emotionally. Some do not think of us that way, and see “what a easy job” when the truth is we carry a lot on our shoulders.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am very proud and thankful to be a full body and brow wax specialist! I am most proud of how comfortable people feel when they walk into my room. They can pour their heart out tell me their biggest achievements to their hardest days! They are what keep me going, I could not be here without my clients being amazing! My biggest reason to keep going is my clients! So many people who have been judged, mistreated, hurt have been able to open up to me again! I hope that my personality sets me apart from all other waxers!
How do you define success?
I define success on having loyal, amazing, kind regards in my room and books! I want to make it home for family dinner, birthdays, spend holidays with my family. I worked so many holidays and weekends up until I decided to do my waxing career full time. Late nights, I worked every weekend, most holidays I promised myself when I am able to I would dedicate the time I have to my family when possible. I feel as I am always so blessed and successful.
