Today we’d like to introduce you to Roni Zulu.
Hi Roni, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After art college, I perused my music and toured with some famous acts. After that, I opened a tattoo studio which gained a large celebrity following, then a painting studio.
I’ve shown at LCMA and many galleries and museums, given lectures at Disney, etc.
I also write/illustrate children’s books.
I’m a falconer and beekeeper.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not easy at all. Starting tattooing was hard; see video link for explanation.
Painting was a struggle as well due to my style.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Realistic/surreal oil painting.
