Conversations with Savion Pauling

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savion Pauling.

Savion, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey, I go by SaSoDolo. I’m a musical artist. I started off making beats and learning everything I could possibly know about the music industry since I was in 9th grade. I’ve always been in music since I was in elementary school. I grew up in Columbia, SC always moving around the city since my parents were divorced, its was pretty rough growing up here but I made due with what I had and made things work. Growing up, I listened to different types of music expanding my musical taste, and as I gotten older, I started to incorporate those aspects in my music and the things I talk about as well been through but I know it’s relatable. I grew up listening to 2Pac, Outkast, Lauryn Hill, Bob Marley, Avenged Sevenfold, Michael Jackson, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Korn, Bring Me the Horizon, and Jimmy Hendrix. Throughout high school, I was mainly listening to xxxtentacion, ski mask the slump god, and juice wrld. In 2018 to 2019, I had started making a name for myself and gotten to speak with Jarad a few times the conversations mostly were uplifting and motivation conversations. Through 2019-2020 my Instagram and all my socials had gotten hacked into and I lost all my progress which downed me because of how far I’ve gotten. Late 2020 and going into 2021, I had made new accounts and grown substantially then got hacked again February of 2021, this time only being my Instagram and Twitter. At this time, I was highly aggravated but I pushed it to the side and kept progressing making a new Instagram and Twitter around my birthday March 15, 2021. During this time, I was staying with a close friend that I consider a Brother in Killeen, TX still making music while being out their making a name for myself. Also around this time, I dropped one of my most popular songs Better On The Other Side on all platforms and a couple of other songs. Throughout the next few months, my new socials started to grow again and my songs were started to get added to numerous playlists from that period of time up until now. And this is how I got to where I’m at today just got to stay headstrong, consistent, staying positive, and keep working hard to further my career, goals and dreams.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t been from losing my socials multiple times, losing people through my lifetime, and finding all the information I needed throughout the years to get me to where I am and furthering my career. It’s been pretty rough but it wasn’t anything I couldn’t handle or overcome, I feel as if I wouldn’t have gone through those things, I wouldn’t be who I am today. Those challenges molded me into who I am today and made me stronger overall.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I pretty much do it all from producing, mixing, mastering, engineering, raping, and singing. I have a lot of different goals and creative ideas, one is mixing genres as well possibly making my own genre of music. I feel like what sets me apart is my creative ability with videos and making lyrics that have 2 to 4 meanings in one and sometimes more.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
To stay positive no matter the situation hardworking and true to yourself. Being your authentic self already sets you apart from others because 9/10 nobody can replicate what you did because it was authentic and with doing that, you can touch and influence more people’s lives.
