Today we’d like to introduce you to Summer Hart
Hi Summer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It takes finesse to perfect any style of beer. Sure on the surface it seems simple: barley, hops, yeast, water. And maybe at one point it was. But the beer world we are living in today is anything but. Breweries are constantly experimenting, and challenging the beer landcape that came before it. And in 2017 at the ripe ol’ age of 30 I found myself engrossed in the exciting world of beer. I had recently moved to Austin from Houston and breweries were seemingly everywhere overnight. Even more exciting was that I had found myself in the middle of awesome new friend group of fellow beer lovers. Every weekend we’d choose a few new breweries to check out. I just loved sitting around with friends sampling different styles and discussing them. It became so much of a hobby that in 2018 I decided to start an Instagram beer blog called Austin Beer Broad. It started with reviewing individual beers and grew to really center around new breweries in Austin and beyond. Beer travel is my favorite travel and I’m lucky enough to do it often. Most recently I checked out Asheville, NC., Portland, ME., Seattle, WA., and Denver, CO., even making it in 2024 to the Great American Beer Festival. The craft beer community is an awesome one and I’m just happy to be a small part of it.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The amount of working out it takes to stay in shape when you’re a beer chick!

I’m probably best known for being a cute crop-top wearing blonde taking photos with beers and at breweries.
I think what sets me apart is that I support craft beer solely because I love craft beer and want to continue to see this industry thrive. I have no interest in making money from my blog or having tons of followers.
What matters most to you? Why?
As someone who has worked in craft beer and grown up in a family of small business owners, I’ve seen firsthand the passion behind these projects. Like most small businesses, craft breweries are not making a ton of money, it is a labor of love and that has always inspired me. This industry is such a joyful and playful one and I want to see its growth continue.
