Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Robinson

Hi Tyler, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
When I started G.A.L.O.R.E., I was a college student at Texas State. My classification was a sophomore at the time. I was in the middle of a transition from my apartment and through my transition I was initially staying with my good friend. It was a late night and I was locked out of his apartment, so I decided to go to the school library until he returned. As I began to explore all of the applications on the computer do to boredom, I came across a website that allowed you to design your own T-shirts. I began to design some awful t-shirt styles that did not represent my faith nr what I believed in at the time. A lot of my designs centered around the college experience. The things that were hip at the time. Through my exploration I designed some shirts that at the time I thought looked pretty cool. I showed my peers and they too thought the same. From there, I thought to myself “if people on the internet are blowing up over clothing, i too can do something that can bring in some revenue for myself and express my artistic side.” The name of the brand at the time was called “Gully”. A brand that showcased the young life and promoted all the desirable things that young adults aspire to be and have. Its philosophy mimicked that of modern day Hip-Hop and the young fast life. As I continued my exploration with the brand, I continued to share my current creations with my friends. It wasn’t until one of my good friends shared their honest opinion. They stated “Tyler, what you’re doing is cool but, does this represent who you are and what you believe in?” This question took me aback. I responded “No, it doesn’t represent me, but it’s what the people around me want.” basically, I was trying to fit in. I pondered on this question for many days. During this time, I was introduced to a new ministry, trying to find my faith in God and actively growing, so I began to pray over what I wanted the brand to portray. During my asking, God told me the word “Galore” which means “many things” and or “in abundance”. I began my research to discover why I heard that word. During my research God revealed to me that galore is actually an acronym standing for God Almighty Lord Omnipotent Righteous Eternal. These were the aspects of and property of God. Once I found my brands Identity, I began the path of sharing my faith and my identity in Christ with other young adults through the brand. Being an explosive evangelist on my campus and around social media sharing my faith through apparel.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has not been smooth at all. I have had many highs and lows in my journey with developing my brand. It was very difficult to start something when you have zero dollars to fund your vision and on top of that having an educational deficiency in the area of business to properly structure how things ought to go, A lot of what I learned came from trial and tribulation. Whether me being inconsistent with the brands output because I could not financially sustain it and or not sticking with the plans I would make. But over time it has paid off.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
What I do personally is I work for a non-profit (my church The R.O.C.K.). I am an administrative assistant to my Senior Pastor. I help develop teams, lead young adults on Texas State Campus in an on campus Bible study known as Vision In Progress, I specialize in developing marketing content and graphical art. When I graduated from the Texas State University I graduated with my BFA in communication design. I am a key player in creating digital and gorilla marketing content for the ministry. I have begun to shift my focus towards learning data analytics, e-commerce and business to further my understanding in this fast pace world to one day become a Cereal Entrepreneur. What sets me apart is my ability and desire to continue to learn and apply what I learn. I am a life long learner and I have my Pastor to thank for that. I refuse to become obsolete.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Where you fail is where you’ll learn to succeed. Failure is your best friend.
