Today we’d like to introduce you to Zack Tullier.
Hi Zack, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I first got started in photography while in college, trying to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. Something about photography and video really stood out to me. I like seeing people’s reactions to great photos or awesome videos of them. I started with covering non-profit events for free and eventually moved my way up to covering weddings and corporate events. I was able to use my portfolio to land a job at the largest studio in Baton Rouge as a lead video editor. I helped to grow that company which landed me a position as a director here in Austin, Texas. After about a year in Austin, I was able to go full time with my company, Saturn Photography! It has always been my dream to run my own photography company in a popular city. I never imagined I would be here even 2-3 years ago. I now have bigger and better dreams for my company here in Austin and I plan to be one of the top photographers in this city.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some of the struggles with photography when starting off. It is very expensive and trying to get paid for your photos takes a very long time. I almost gave up on photography in the few couples of years just because it is very competitive and I felt like I was very far behind most people. Moving from a small city to a large one was the most helpful thing for me. I now feel more confident than ever with my company here in Austin, Texas.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I cover just about all photography needs. Family, events, maternity, weddings, engagements, corporate, headshots, portraits, pets, newborn, and everything else! Something that sets me apart is I usually give my clients high-resolution photos with no watermarks and they have the full download and print rights.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
I was a reporter on TV for a while!
