Daily Inspiration: Meet Adam Von Rothfelder

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adam Von Rothfelder.

Hi Adam, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
When I started STRONG coffee company, it was from a place of necessity. At the time, I was a retired pro fighter and union electrician turned personal trainer and gym owner. I was working 12+ hours a day at the gym and bartending on the weekends. To wake up early for my clients and feel ready, I had a coffee concoction that I would whip up in the kitchen, walk to the gym and greet my morning client. They would generally smile and ask where their coffee was. I would smile and give them the recipe AGAIN, and yet they would never make it themselves. The recipe was to involved and honestly, it was a $6-$8 dollar latte worth of ingredients. At the time, my dad was also battling cancer. And just as my clients, he would refuse to make his coffee the STRONG way. It was dad’s life and my clients that inspired me years later to bring that same recipe into an instant and easy drink recipe that would not only give you the nutrition you need but also the energy and focus you want. Thanks to some of my clients like the founder of TOM’s and Upworthy, I was able to bring STRONG Coffee Company come to life in 2018. We have since made 10,000’s of people switch up their morning routine and start STRONG

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Our coffee may be smooth and delicious but our experience as a company has been far from it. We are a small company less than three full-time employees kinda small, but we love doing shit big! Since starting SCC, I have raised capital 2/3 of the time while operating and growing revenue streams. We have since launched globally in wholefoods in what could be one of the worst times in our history of sourcing and manufacturing products. Luckily with a lot of faith, hard work and a great team, we have navigated the waters and continue to Strive To Reach Our Natural Greatness because that’s what being STRONG is.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
As the CEO of STRONG Coffee Company, my greatest attribute is knowing what I’m not good at. However, as a start-up, you don’t have the luxury of outsourcing what you’re not good at right away. So you do everything. And then learn what you do best and what you need to hire out. My strengths include creative brand and marketing strategies with go to market plans. I love to dabble in creative content and direction as well as develop and source manufacturing for our products on a day to day. In addition, I raise money, find new revenue streams, and build relationships through the community.

Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
Falling out of a giant willow tree and realizing at a young age that I was good at getting back up. In this line of work resilience is a necessity.
