Daily Inspiration: Meet Alexandra (Alex) Campo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alexandra (Alex) Campo.

Hi Alex, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Alexandra “Alex” Campo, the Peace Integration Coach. I’m a somatic practitioner, trauma coach, and founder of Hero’s Ranch Holistic Healing, a healing farm focused on releasing trauma out of the body and healing your nervous system, located on the east side of Georgetown. As a solo mom of three and a U.S. Navy veteran, my journey into this work began not from theory, but from lived experience as I was medically retired from the US Navy in 2014 because of my spinal injury that I was never supposed to come back from. Being steadfast in my own healing and helping my children heal is how I was thrown into this work over a decade ago.

After surviving domestic violence at the hands of my ex-husband, navigating the legal system on my own, and rebuilding our lives from the ground up, I made a commitment to understand trauma to ensure I gave my children the best, most healed life for them to become productive, healthy adults. Not just emotionally, but biologically and spiritually. That pursuit led me to study professional counseling, neuroscience, and quantum consciousness, which eventually evolved into my PhD dissertation and the development of The SAFE Method (Scan, Acknowledge, Feel, Embody) with the key part being that you only need a 15-minute-a-day framework that helps individuals regulate their nervous systems, release stored trauma, and rebuild internal safety. Granted the trauma work is associated with live, weekly processing, but I have a nervous system healing program that is self-paced at 15-minutes a day with no trauma work that stops the burnout, stops feeling so overwhelmed, and allows peace to begin to flow back into your life.

Our family relocated to Texas in 2014, and what began as a small personal healing journey on our land became Hero’s Ranch Holistic Healing, a space where humans and animals heal together. Through years of working with dogs, I developed early-age cognitive training programs that shape emotionally balanced puppies by 8 weeks old. These same behavioral principles, trust, desensitization, and co-regulation, naturally extended into the trauma-healing work I do with people today.

At Hero’s Ranch, we combine animal-assisted therapy, somatic science, and nervous system education to help families and individuals feel safe in their bodies again. I believe that healing doesn’t have to take hours a day when you have the right tools, intention, and consistency. Watching my clients and their families come alive again after years of dysregulation is what keeps me passionate about this work.

From trauma survivor to practitioner, my story is one of resilience, faith, and the belief that with the right guidance, every person has the power to heal, not just their mind, but their entire way of being. I’m no one special, just someone who found the right tools that broke open the healing I needed and many others who have found me and my work to heal as well.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I would say anything but smooth but that fire is what has molded me into the unstoppable force I am today.I was emancipated at 16 after surviving severe neglect and graduated from high school early through independent study. I left the state to start college at 16 by earning a full-time scholarship. At 19, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician. My career was on an officer track to transfer to the Air Force until a spinal injury led to a medical retirement at 25.

After leaving the military, I faced years of rebuilding with surviving domestic violence, representing myself in court for years, and ultimately winning the case that kept my children safe. Those years forced me to rediscover who I was beyond the pain and trauma. Every step since has been about transforming hardship into healing, learning how the body and mind recover, and turning that knowledge into the foundation for my work today at Hero’s Ranch Holistic Healing. I think it’s my secret weapon because I know the pain points so deeply that my clients experience.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m the founder of Hero’s Ranch Holistic Healing, a trauma-informed nervous system healing center and healing farm in Georgetown where humans and animals heal together. I specialize in somatic therapy, nervous system regulation, and trauma recovery, teaching people how to reconnect with their bodies and restore peace in just 15 minutes a day through my original framework, The SAFE Method (Scan, Acknowledge, Feel, Embody), which is also the focus of my PhD dissertation.

I’m best known for combining science, energetic healing, and animal-assisted therapy to create a grounded, practical approach to healing that fits into everyday life. At the ranch, I also raise and train puppies through a cognitive development program that builds emotionally stable, resilient dogs by 8 weeks old. A program I created that starts at a few days old and is a process that mirrors how I help people rebuild their own emotional foundations.

What sets my work apart is its integration of neuroscience, behavioral science, and HeartMath research that bridges proven science with practical tools that everyday people can use to heal. My approach brings empirical research to life in a way that’s deeply human and accessible. Having personally walked the path from trauma to transformation, I meet each client with empathy, clarity, and understanding. I’m most proud of witnessing people come alive again by finding safety in their bodies, peace in their minds, and renewed purpose in their lives. When animals are part of the process, their presence amplifies that transformation in the most beautiful ways.

Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people are surprised to learn that I was emancipated at 16, served in the Navy by 19, and later built my business from the ground up as a solo mom. My life has been a constant evolution of resilience and faith. Every chapter, from the military to being an entrepreneur, has helped shape the grounded yet spiritual way I now teach others to heal and trust themselves again.

I see now how perfectly my experiences fit together. My military background in electrical systems laid the groundwork for understanding how the human body functions like its own energetic circuit. My K9 Behaviorist and training work showed me the depths of the brain and how we can deeply impact the body, both human and K9. Then the heart, to me, is both an engine and a bridge, a quantum portal where healing begins. When we start viewing ourselves as living electrical grids, we can engage with our healing process not just scientifically, but joyfully and intentionally.
