Daily Inspiration: Meet Alina Tapia Romero

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alina Tapia Romero.

Hi Alina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
As a little girl Alina always wished to have her own business, thinking back at some point of her life she wanted to be a realtor to own lots of properties, wanted to go to law school and also wanted the teaching career. Well, life gets in the way and non of that happened. I graduated with a 4th month old pregnancy and had my first born at the age of 19. My career took a tremendous pause, but God’s timing comes at some point, and it did on 2021 at the age of 32. After being a 9-5 employee to support my 6 children, i was finally emotionally ready for this entrepreneurial life. I was introduced in the Insurance career after getting pulled over for speeding, (apparently ive been watching too many Fast & Furious movies lol) i didnt have insurance under my name, my car did, but i wasnt a listed driver. When i went to the insurance office to purchase insurance i realized that throughout my life ive always wanted to work in an office enviroment, little did i know; this would be my forever career. I started on March of 2010 with Fred Loya, then i moved to Contractors Insurance, then to 1 Stop Financial ( i was 5 months pregnant with my 3rd baby). Then, i went with State Farm.. I just kept moving and moving, learning new skills, and learning experiences. Later i worked for Allstate, Nationwide, i trained for Farmers and quit right after the training, i worked for Texas State Low Cost, or TIM. Finally, I ended up with a mindset of ” its time”. I opened the first agency with a partner in 2019, but realized that partnerships were not for me. I finally believed so much in my potential and my capabilities that i knew i could do it on my own. I parted ways and registered my own business in 2021, i started the business inside a Market Place off of Lamar BLVD. The first year i worked crazy hours and all week! This was a Monday – Sunday job. Mind you i have 6 children but that didnt stop me, they would go with me at times to spend time with me, even while i was at work. Little by little the businesss grew, i started participating with non profits, volunteering, and going to a lot of networking events that, they didnt only provided me connections but also knowlege. I am part of Amhiga Hispana since 2022, part of EGBI since 2019, i volunteer at my childrens schools, and Mexicanas in Austin since 2023. I discovered that helping my community gave me lots of knowledge and experiences to help serve and help better each time. I currently service with insurance needs to the community who do not have a state license, we are an agency who shops them around with more than 15 carriers to find the lowest rate, we dont only sell to our customers, but make sure that the language barrier is not a problem and the fact that they are from another country they understand the importance of them to be property insured. Eazy Start Insurance has 2 main locations, one in Austin and one in Manor TX (my hometown). Being able to accomplis this task, this dream witht he help of my team is a dream come true! Our passion and our mission is to serve you and help you protect your assest with the adequate coverage. As this journey continues, my only goal, is to be able to serve all over the cities in Texas. One step at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Support of the family, its hard to have people understand what youre going through emotionally and financially if they have never been through that before.

The absense ive had with my children due to having to be in events, and also educational training for myself to be better as i grow.

Sometimes you feel like no one understands you, and that youre in this alone.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in property and casualty in the state of Texas. The agency has over 15 carriers that are non standard companies who insure drivers in the state of texas without a valid drivers license. We can insure them with a passport, a matricula, a TXID, or an ID from their Country. I belive that it doesnt matter the legal status of a driver when involved in an accident, i believe that what truly matters is that they have a policy that takes care of me and my passengers financially when involded in an accident. We also accept drivers with excessive claims, and the ones that need SR22’s. We also insure General Contractors. The specialty in accurately protecting a construction business is something i am passionate about. Its a critical and very importat factor for your business to thrive and to avoid stress in unexpected situations. I am deeply proud of my consistency and my eagerness and hunger for knowledge. Even though I didnt become a realtor, nor a lawyer or a teacher.. I believe there are some traits that deep inside me naturally developed, I see my insurance career as a teaching career to a certain extent. Teaching people about insurance or entrepreneurs about insurance that dont speak the language is something that sets me apart, i like to share knowledge so you can make the most effective decission for the well being of your business.

What do you like and dislike about the city?
Austin is a beautiful city full of people who each and one of them have their own stories and their own expericenses that we can use as guidance in life. Traffic is the thing i dislike completely!
