Hi Anh, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello, my name is Anh. I am dedicated. I am creative. I am driven. And I am thrilled to share my journey with you as a balloon artist. My lovely niece graduated last year and requested an organic balloon garland for her graduation. I wasn’t quite sure what I was getting myself into when I volunteered myself to do it, but I’m glad I took that opportunity to do so. I learned to create something unique. After each install, it was the look on my client’s face that would express how much happiness I felt.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have learned and I am still learning that there won’t always be a fast and easy path. Initially in this journey I didn’t know what to expect. What I would achieve to experience is not only being a balloon stylist, but I would also be the inventory manager, social media content creator, customer service representative, photographer, videographer, billing manager, etc. Talk about a resume! As of current, I am juggling this venture while also working a full time job as an Administrative Assistant at Nonprofit Austin, at Austin Community College. It’s a balancing act between work, business and personal life. Which is why self-care is very important to me. You can’t show up for anything if you don’t show up for yourself first.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We are in the process of adding additional design options to offer with our rentals. Marquee lit number and/or letter rentals will be available soon. I build these structures with my partner-in-crime, Clayton Morris and we are so excited to see these at future events!
We’d be interested to hear your thoughts on luck and what role, if any, you feel it’s played for you?
I believe in luck and I believe I make my own luck by stepping outside the boundary lines. I open myself to a new experience and build upon the foundation I already have. I am lucky to also have such a wonderful support system. My family. My friends. My fur-babies. My partner-in-crime. I couldn’t imagine this journey without them!
