Daily Inspiration: Meet Callie Ring

Today we’d like to introduce you to Callie Ring.

Callie, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My journey really began in art school. I always had a heart for people and creativity, and for a long time I thought I would become an art teacher. Art felt familiar and safe—a place where I could express myself even while fighting through the challenges of dyslexia.

Then life came fast. I got married young—just 20 years old—and suddenly, my husband and I found ourselves in poverty, trying to figure out who we were, what careers to pursue, and how to build a future from almost nothing..young, high school sweethearts, and in school – I was creative, but I didn’t know where that would take me. I was searching for direction, for purpose, for something I could pour myself into. I wanted my career / life to make a “difference”

My husband saw something in me before I saw it in myself. He noticed my natural talent for photography and believed I had a gift. One Christmas, he surprised me with my first “big girl” camera. I opened the box and instantly cried. Up until then, I had only owned a film camera, and while I loved it, I was ready—so ready—to take my craft to the next level.

From that day forward, my camera went everywhere with me. It became like an extra arm, a part of me. And slowly but surely, my passion turned into a career. My business grew so quickly that I began falling behind in art school—not because I didn’t care, but because I was already doing the very thing they were teaching. With my professor’s encouragement, I eventually dropped some classes and even ended up with an F. But honestly? That “failure” was the beginning of everything.

Since then, I’ve photographed hundreds of families, weddings, newborns—you name it. Capturing life as it happens brings me so much joy. I truly believe God redirected my path and placed a camera in my hands to document the beauty of people and their stories.

Over the past ten years, I’ve also owned a wedding venue and a restaurant, but photography has always been my anchor. Not just a passion, but a calling.

Today, I’m grateful to run a successful six-figure photography business—built from faith, creativity, and determination during those early, difficult years.
I can’t imagine doing anything else.

And I’m excited for a lifetime of clicking that shutter, preserving moments for clients to revisit, cherish, and hold onto forever.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Long nights editing, figuring out the back end of business, time management, and just believing in myself took a minute to figure out. I honestly could not believe how far I had come – it was like something was finally the perfect fit for me – after a lifelong fight with dyslexia and never firing in at school – this just came so naturally and I was thriving

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a professional wedding, family,
Newborn and motherhood photographer. Anything that involves people and the camera is my jam

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I really enjoy listening to my favorite music artist while editing, on days that are hard what motivates me are verses like Colossians 3:23 really push me to always put my best work forward even when maybe I’m tired or have a busy season in life “ whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the lord rather than for people”
