Daily Inspiration: Meet Clare Robinette

Today we’d like to introduce you to Clare Robinette

Hi Clare, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
For the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working as a professional makeup artist.

Originally from London, my career began with high-end beauty brands, where I honed my skills both as a makeup artist and as a trainer. This path took me around the globe, eventually landing me in New York City—the place where I met my future husband and began my journey in the USA.

I currently reside in Austin, Texas and primarily do bridal makeup. Although I have had the opportunity to work on several musicians and creatives in Austin also.

Another passion of mine is vintage clothing. I previously ran a vintage business called Lipstick Lille Vintage, specializing in beautiful, feminine, one-of-a-kind pieces. While I’ve since transitioned from selling to curating, my love for vintage remains at the heart of what I do. This February 9th, I’m thrilled to host the debut Heritance Vintage Market in East Austin—a carefully curated hub for premium vintage sellers to showcase their extraordinary collections.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The journey hasn’t always been smooth.

When I moved to America, I had to start from scratch. I didn’t know anyone and had to put myself out there, making connections and building my network from the ground up to advance my career. My passion for makeup and vintage fashion has always been at the heart of everything I do—even influencing my everyday style. It’s this unwavering love for creativity and self-expression that has helped me stand out in such a competitive industry.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
My work as a makeup artist naturally complements my love for the vintage fashion industry.

My makeup philosophy has always been to enhance natural beauty rather than mask it. I find endless inspiration in old Hollywood glamour, often looking to past eras to spark fresh ideas.

What I’m most proud of, however, is the life I’ve built. I’m a mom to two little girls and the owner of two businesses. It’s not always easy, but I’ve always been driven to work for myself and to show my children that it’s possible to be a successful businesswoman while also being a loving wife and mother.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, I was quite shy and a bit of a late bloomer.

It wasn’t until I went to college to study makeup design that I truly came out of my shell. It felt like I had finally found my voice—and my people.
