Dammy, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
After teaching for seven years in Maryland, I felt it was time for a change. In 2021, I moved to Austin, Texas, seeking new opportunities and a better quality of life.
During the weekdays, I work as a data scientist, diving into data and analytics. But in the evenings and on weekends, I tap into my passion for fashion and lifestyle. I started sharing my personal style and daily life on social media, which allowed me to connect with others who share similar interests.
This online presence opened doors to collaborations with brands that align with my values. It also inspired me to start a small business, offering products and services that reflect the content I create.
Balancing a full-time job with my entrepreneurial ventures has its challenges, but each role complements the other. This journey has been rewarding, allowing me to grow both professionally and personally.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Balancing multiple roles has indeed presented significant challenges. As a data scientist, my work often demands extra hours, making it difficult to maintain the consistency crucial for audience engagement in content creation. Inconsistent posting can lead to a loss of audience interest, as regular updates are vital for growth.
Staying current with trends, connecting authentically with my audience, and keeping them engaged require substantial time and effort. Managing these responsibilities alongside raising two children adds another layer of complexity. However, these challenges have taught me the importance of meticulous time management and setting clear priorities. While the road has been far from smooth, each obstacle has contributed to my growth, resilience, and adaptability.

I specialize in creating fashion and lifestyle content across platforms like Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Lemon8, and Atmosfy. My unique approach blends affordable and luxury fashion, showcasing how to achieve stylish looks without overspending. This “high-low” fashion philosophy demonstrates that elegance isn’t confined to high-end labels alone.
In addition to content creation, I actively share and sell great deals on these platforms, I’m also working on launching a Shopify store to offer curated items that reflect my style and resonate with my audience.
What sets me apart is the fusion of my analytical background in data science with my creative pursuits. This combination allows me to leverage data-driven insights to understand fashion trends and audience preferences, enhancing the relevance and impact of my content.
I’m particularly proud of building a community that values authenticity and practicality in fashion, empowering individuals to express themselves confidently without compromising on quality or budget.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up in Nigeria, I was a shy child who found joy in solitary activities like playing dress-up. As I gained the freedom to choose my own outfits, I discovered a natural talent for coordinating clothes that were both stylish and complementary. This skill didn’t go unnoticed; friends began seeking my advice on their clothing purchases and outfit selections for special occasions.
Beyond fashion, I had a deep love for music and dance, which often led me to social events where I could express myself creatively. I also enjoyed exploring new places and indulging in shopping, even if it was just window shopping. These experiences not only broadened my perspective but also enriched my understanding of style and aesthetics.
In essence, my childhood was a blend of introspection and creative exploration, laying the foundation for my passions in fashion, lifestyle, and content creation.
