Daily Inspiration: Meet Daniel Wiebe

Today we’d like to introduce you to Daniel Wiebe

Hi Daniel, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
My writing career started 11 years ago in 2013. I was in the Marine Corps and part of the crew on the Naval carrier called The Bonhomme Richard. I worked 12 on/12 off shifts, and I was on night shift. During the day I ate, showered, and racked out. In my rack I would write. Little did I know that book I started then eventually evolved into what is now “Blades of the Night,” the first book of my grimdark fantasy trilogy!

Now, I’m out of the Marine Corps, but I’m still writing. In fact, the final book of my trilogy comes out on March 1st! I am currently a firefighter/paramedic, which leaves me plenty of time to write when I’m off duty.

I have plans for more books, and I can’t wait to get as many out there as possible!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve been luckier than many, I think, because overall, the obstacles I’ve faced have never been insurmountable. My family is extremely supportive, and my wife is an unshakeable rock. They all help me whenever I need it, and I’m also there for them.

My friends are great, and many of them try to make it to as many book signings as they can!

The support system I’ve had is, I’m sure, a major reason why this road hasn’t been as bumpy as it could have been.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As I mentioned, I’m an author! I write grimdark fantasy books currently, but I do have plans to try my hand at other genres!

My series, The Severance Trilogy, is about to complete with the third and final book coming out March 1st!

Currently, what I’m most proud of is being able to actually finish this trilogy. There’s been times where it felt like I never would, but now that I’m here all the hard work I put into these books has been worth it. I’m proud of what I wrote, I think it’s good, and I hope the readers will, too!

My writing style sets me apart from others. These books are brutal and unrelentingly violent, and I tried to keep them as realistic as possible. There are insurmountable odds my characters face, and, as the word implies, they’re unable to get out of them. It’s a bleak world where all hope seems lost, but it never truly is. You just have to know where to look for it.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
The easiest way to support me is to, of course, buy my books! They’re all available on Amazon in various formats.
Following my Facebook page, The Severance Trilogy, is another great way to show support and likely one of the easiest ways to get in touch with me for whatever reasons you may have.
