Daily Inspiration: Meet Dawson Garza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dawson Garza.

Hi Dawson, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I’ve always been drawn to making and creating things. My passion to create led me to pursuing a Fine Arts degree in computer animation. Being surrounded by so many forms of art and trying new things eventually led me to my current career as a graphic designer and photographer. I love getting to create with a camera and getting to collaborate with so many other creatives for projects.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The biggest hurdle as an artist to overcome is your own mind. It is both your greatest asset and most harsh critic. One thing all professional creatives must choose is whether money or passion is more important. Many people don’t fully understand the worth of an artist which can make it tricky with any paid project.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
By day I’m designing anything from local marketing ads, truck wraps, billboards, etc. for the Austin area. During my off time, I’m pursuing my passion and business for photography. I shoot anything from casual fashion, business portraits, boudoir, and fine art portraits. My fine art portraits have become my most known work, but the casual fashion is what I am booked to shoot most.

Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
My Instagram is the easiest way to see my work and get ahold of me for shoots and collaborations.
