Today we’d like to introduce you to Eleana Estrada
Hi Eleana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started my journey in the insurance industry back in 2019, joining a local agency where I learned the ropes and gained valuable experience. Over time, I realized I wanted to do more for my community, so I worked hard to obtain additional licensing, which allowed me to expand my services to include life insurance. This was especially important to me because of my own background. I grew up in a low-income family in Chicago, where financial education and resources were scarce. I saw firsthand how a lack of knowledge about financial protection could leave families vulnerable during tough times.
That’s why my mission has always been to help educate families about how they can protect themselves, especially in times of loss. I want to make sure others don’t have to go through the same struggles I did growing up. Every day, I’m driven by the opportunity to empower people with the tools and knowledge they need to secure their futures. It’s more than just a job for me—it’s about making a real difference in the lives of the people I serve.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but the challenges have only strengthened my resolve to help others. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, it brought a wave of obstacles that made things incredibly difficult. The agency I worked for wasn’t operating at full capacity, which limited the resources and support we could provide to families. On top of that, many individuals were struggling financially and didn’t have the means to invest in their futures, even though they needed protection more than ever. The pandemic created a lot of fear and uncertainty, and families were worried about their health, their homes, and their livelihoods.
Despite all of this, I stayed committed to my mission. I knew that even if people couldn’t afford to take immediate action, they still needed information and options to plan for the future. I focused on educating families wherever I could, offering guidance and helping them understand their choices, even if it was just a conversation to ease their worries. It wasn’t easy, but I believed that providing knowledge and support during such a tough time was the best way I could help. Those experiences taught me the importance of adaptability and reinforced my dedication to being there for my community, no matter the circumstances.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a versatile independent insurance agent dedicated to helping individuals and families from all walks of life. My work focuses on providing a wide range of insurance products—from auto and home insurance to life insurance and financial investments—tailored to fit any budget and household size. I believe everyone deserves access to protection and financial security, no matter their circumstances, and I take pride in working closely with my clients to find solutions that meet their unique needs.
While I primarily serve clients in the Austin area, my reach extends far beyond the city thanks to virtual assistance. I’ve had investment conversations with individuals from California to Georgia and everywhere in between, which has allowed me to connect with and help people across the country. What sets me apart is my unwavering commitment to education and empowerment. Growing up without access to financial literacy resources, I understand how overwhelming it can be to navigate these decisions. That’s why I make it a priority to ensure my clients have the knowledge they need to make informed choices about their financial futures.
One of my proudest achievements is the recent publication of my book, *From Policy to Property: The Cash-Flow Code*, which I co-authored with my colleague Dasia Sharp. Now available on Amazon, this guide bridges the gap between financial literacy and real estate investment, offering practical advice and strategies to help readers build wealth and security. Writing this book was a way for me to expand my mission of education and empowerment, reaching even more people who might not have had access to this kind of knowledge before.
At the end of the day, what drives me is knowing that I’m making a difference in the lives of families and communities. Whether it’s through one-on-one consultations, virtual outreach, or sharing knowledge through my book, I’m determined to help others achieve the financial stability and peace of mind they deserve.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5-10 years, I see the insurance and financial services industry evolving in some exciting and impactful ways. Technology will continue to play a huge role, with more tools and platforms making it easier for people to access and manage their insurance and investments. I think we’ll see a rise in personalized, data-driven solutions that cater to individual needs, which is great because it means more people can find plans and products that truly fit their lifestyles and budgets.
At the same time, I believe there will be a growing emphasis on financial education and transparency. People are becoming more aware of the importance of protecting their futures, and they want to understand their options without feeling overwhelmed or pressured. That’s where agents like me come in—we’ll continue to be a bridge between complex financial products and the clients who need them, offering guidance and education every step of the way.
One trend I’m hopeful about is the increasing focus on inclusivity. I think the industry will continue to shift toward serving underserved communities, like the ones I grew up in, where access to financial literacy and resources has historically been limited. This is something I’m deeply passionate about, and I’m excited to see more efforts to close that gap.
Of course, there will be challenges, too. Economic uncertainties, regulatory changes, and the lingering effects of events like the pandemic will require adaptability and resilience. But I’m optimistic that the industry will rise to the occasion, finding innovative ways to meet people’s needs and provide stability during uncertain times.
For me, the next decade is about staying ahead of these changes while staying true to my mission: empowering families with the knowledge and tools they need to protect their futures. Whether it’s through one-on-one consultations, virtual outreach, or educational resources like my book, I’m committed to being a trusted resource for my clients as the industry evolves.
