Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Kaye.
Emily, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I come from a creative, music industry background that taught me discipline, adaptability, and the value of hard work. Raised between Hawaii and the South Pacific, I developed an early love for movement, the outdoors, and an active lifestyle.
I am a lifelong athlete with a competitive edge, from record setting track performances to cycling podiums. Today, I am a certified personal and group trainer and a licensed cycling coach through USA Cycling, focused on helping people build strength, recover from injuries, and regain confidence. I also coached riders for the Texas 4000 team through the University of Texas, preparing them for their ride from Texas to Alaska in support of cancer research.
I combine strength training, cycling, yoga, and mobility to support longevity and real world performance. My goal is simple. Help people move better, get stronger, and build a body that supports the life they want to live.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The transition wasn’t easy. Witnessing my mom’s decline due to a sedentary lifestyle and persistent health problems was incredibly difficult. I felt a deep sense of powerlessness and knew I wanted to make a difference. After she passed, I was determined to use my knowledge and love of movement to help others. My aim is to simplify exercise, provide support, and offer practical solutions, especially for those facing health challenges, making it less daunting.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a wellness professional and performance coach with a background spanning the music industry and human performance. I spent over 15 years in executive leadership, client management, and strategic operations in the music business before transitioning to fitness and coaching.
That experience has shaped how I work today. I understand people, pressure, long timelines, and the importance of trust and consistency. As a trainer and cycling coach, I design thoughtful, individualized programs that support strength, recovery, and long-term health. My approach balances performance with longevity, meeting people where they are, whether they’re rebuilding after injury or looking to expand what their body can do.
At the core of my work is a practical, people-first philosophy. I help clients build sustainable habits, gain confidence in movement, and develop strength that supports their real lives, not just the gym. Being middle-aged, I’m still a competitive athlete and experienced in transitioning from one discipline to another.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
The most important lesson I have learned along the way: Empathy, patience for myself and others.
