Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriel Arellano.
Hi Gabriel, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up with multi-talents. Birth an awesome son- where we lived in Capitol Hill in Washington DC, there were many STEM Activities/workshops. Yet expensive that no low-income families could afford. And no people of color, disabilities & girls/women participated. Therefore my son and I decided to start our STEMS.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Tough to start, yet happy we started with families with deaf children (Birth to 5 years old). We started from our pockets; One Deaf school did not pay us as a contract agreement. Yet we keep on moving forward.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
As a linguist and culinary artist, merging many learning developments via STEM Education to deliver to communities globally is fun.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
