Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Ross.
Hi Jay, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I started off as an artist recording music when I was a kid from 2005 to 2012. I eventually put the mic down due to depression. I went into a dark place because me and my former manager split. In 2018, I began doing song and album reviews on Facebook for artist in my city. I wanted my own brand to represent so I came up with the name viewz from da tone, which turned into viewz media group over time and end up posting content on the daily instead of reviews.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been easy in the beginning. I wanted to give up because I felt the support wasn’t there but I kept pushing forward and staying consistent and over time the supporters grew.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Some people use the term blogger. I like content creators better. I’ve been compared to say, cheese tv, which I am honored but I would like to be known as my own person vs a duplicate. My job consists of promoting content for up-and-coming artists to get them noticed. I am most proud of the fact that I am helping San Antonio hip-hop artists get the shine they deserve. What sets me apart is I am well diverse; you will see a kind of artist on my platform.
Do you any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
My favorite childhood memory would have to be me going to blockbuster on Friday nights renting the latest games for my PlayStation 2.
