Today we’d like to introduce you to Larissa Lampitelli.
Hi Larissa, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am originally from New York and moved to Austin, TX three years ago. Moving to Austin enabled me to leave my corporate design job and go full-time with my clothing brand – Larissa Kate.
The line started as a side hustle and grew into the thriving business that it is today! Featuring ethically handcrafted lingerie for those seeking luxury and individuality.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I started my line with a very small amount of money and continue to be self-funded, which is my biggest struggle. It doesn’t allow for much trial and error, so I have to make sure to get as much value out of every dollar spent. It’s very expensive to manufacture in the USA, but I strive on keeping production as ethical and sustainable as possible.
Not a lot of people know that Larissa Kate is a one-woman show. I humbly lead all aspect of my business including social, branding, marketing, the website, and even sewing pieces myself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I specialize in intimate apparel but love designing versatile pieces. My collections merge luxury with functionality. Featuring pure silk, French seams, and looks that can adapt to any occasion – whether you want to stay in or hit the streets. My brand’s motto is “You are a work of art – your lingerie should be too”.
I am very excited to announce that I will be launching a bamboo and organic cotton collection mid-May! This is my first time working with bamboo and I really wanted to put out a new collection rooted in sustainability and comfort while also being size-inclusive. This collection was also my first time doing production in Texas! The pre-production was done in Austin and I manufactured in Dallas.
Aside from having my own company, I also dabble in content creation, especially on Instagram. I love bringing awareness to other brands, healthy recipes, and fun things happening in and around the city!
I think the quality of my work sets me apart from others, as well as sharing my experience as a small business owner.
Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Food, lol. I love cooking clean recipes that make you feel good. I also enjoy walks around Town Lake.
I also love my cat, Stitch and spending time with friends laughing.
