Lisa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My Story — How Home Connect Pathway Began

Ten years ago, I moved to Austin as a solo mom with my two daughters. Like many families starting over, I was juggling a big move, new responsibilities, and the desire to create stability for my kids. That experience — along with a career spent helping others navigate change — planted the seed for what would become Home Connect Pathway.

My professional journey started in banking, where I learned the power of strong relationships and trustworthy guidance. I later transitioned into recruiting economists globally for leading economic consulting firms — a role that taught me how to deeply understand people’s needs, journeys, and decision-making. Eventually, I joined a startup in the utility concierge space, where I spent eight years helping realtors and homeowners set up essential services during a move. I loved the work — but I also saw gaps in the industry:

Automated mapping systems often got utility availability wrong.

Large call centers struggled to offer personal attention.

Clients were left doing much of the research themselves, wasting time and sometimes paying more than they needed to.

I knew there was a better way.

In 2023, I founded Home Connect Pathway with a simple vision: deliver a truly personal, white-glove experience to every client at no cost to them. We partner closely with realtors, property managers, and inspectors, stepping in to make moves easier for buyers, renters, and anyone relocating.

Our dedicated consultants do more than just schedule utilities. We research providers, confirm availability directly (not just rely on automated tools), look for opportunities to lower monthly bills, and guide clients step by step — including how to reschedule if plans change. We also check in before closing to ensure timelines haven’t shifted, so everything is ready when move-in day comes.

At Home Connect Pathway, relationships come first. We exist to make moving simpler, smarter, and more cost-effective while giving realtors and their clients peace of mind. For me, this work is deeply personal — it’s about caring for people during one of life’s biggest transitions, just like I once needed when starting over in Austin with my girls.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a perfectly smooth road. Taking that leap of faith to start my own business was both exciting and terrifying — especially knowing I was the sole provider for my two daughters. One of the biggest challenges early on was overcoming the limiting mindset of leaving the security of a larger company with paid vacation, benefits, and a predictable paycheck.

Once I made that decision, the next hurdle was learning how to run a business from the ground up. I’m a very thorough and detail-oriented person, so navigating things like taxes, the IRS, and business compliance felt overwhelming at times. I didn’t want to just hand everything off — I wanted to truly understand how it all worked, which took time and a lot of learning.

But each challenge taught me resilience and gave me a stronger foundation for my business. Looking back, those early struggles built the confidence and knowledge I rely on today.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
At Home Connect Pathway, we serve as a personal concierge for utilities, internet, and essential home services. When someone is moving into a new home, we step in to handle the research, scheduling, and guidance needed to get everything set up — from electricity and internet to TV/streaming, security, pest control, and movers. We work closely with realtors, property managers, and inspectors to support their clients during what can often be a hectic and overwhelming time.

What truly sets us apart is our personalized, relationship-driven approach. Many larger or tech-based concierge services rely heavily on automated mapping systems, which can be inaccurate — especially in areas with shifting provider boundaries or deregulated electricity markets. We take the time to confirm availability directly, research the best rates based on each client’s specific needs, and make sure they understand their options.

Each client is paired with a dedicated consultant who is there throughout the entire process — answering questions, walking them through how to reschedule if plans change, and even checking in before closing to confirm timelines so services are ready when they move in.

I’m most proud of the trust we’ve built with both realtors and clients. Our work doesn’t stop at the first phone call; we stay involved until everything is running smoothly. For me, it’s deeply rewarding to know we’re making life easier for people during one of their biggest transitions — and to hear from realtors that we’ve helped them create a better experience for their buyers.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t really believe in “luck.” I believe I’ve been blessed by God, and that’s why I’m where I am today. Starting a business while being the sole provider for my two daughters was a huge leap of faith, but I’ve felt God’s guidance at every step.

I’ve been blessed with the right people and opportunities crossing my path at just the right time — mentors, clients, and partners who encouraged me, believed in me, and opened doors I couldn’t have imagined on my own.

I also believe that success follows service, just as scripture teaches. My focus has always been on serving well — caring for people, building relationships, and helping others succeed. That heart for service has shaped how I run Home Connect Pathway and is the foundation for every connection I make.
