Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Friday.
Hi Mia, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I grew up watching WWE on TV, and ever since I was ten, I wanted to be a professional wrestler. When I was 13, I started training as the first female and youngest person ever to join my training school. Now, at age 16, I travel the state every weekend as a professional wrestler and currently hold two championships.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I faced many struggles as the only young girl in my training school and trying to catch up to be on the same level as grown men. In a male-dominated sport, I felt determined to be the best, but I knew there were some doors I had to kick down. There were opportunities that didn’t exist for women’s wrestling that I had to create myself.

Professional Wrestling is a sport most often seen on TV as WWE. Before wrestlers are seen on WWE, they perform on various shows across the world and are known as independent wrestlers. As an independent wrestler, I perform 1-3 matches every weekend as well as train in-ring 4 days a week and lift weights 3-4 days a week in order to perfect my craft.
My character, Mia Friday, is a bright and bubbly girl that aims to inspire kids to chase their dreams early. I stand out for my energy and reputation as the youngest pro wrestler in Texas. My catchphrases include things like “You’re going M.I.A!” or “Everybody loves Friday!”
Do you have any memories from childhood that you can share with us?
When I was 10 years old, my dad took me to my first wrestling show, which was WrestleMania 32. Seeing wrestling for the first time in person is what made me fall in love with wrestling and decide I want to do this for the rest of my life.
