Daily Inspiration: Meet Mia Nicole

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mia Nicole.

Hi Mia Nicole, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Flavor Food Co. was started after I closed my restaurant due to Covid. I’ve always wanted to create unique products that let people inside of my kitchen anytime! Once I closed my restaurant I packed my stuff and moved to Austin! I’ve always had unique blends and recipes that I used at my restaurant, that my customers loved! I was always adventurous with mixing flavors! So bottling my recipes seemed like a seamless transition coming out of the restaurant business and like the perfect time to reinvent myself.

My first product from Flavor Food Co. Lupita’s Seasoning, expresses my love for Texas BBQ and also lets people taste the flavors of my heritage.

The Lupita’s B.B.Q Cowboy Collection is inspired by paying homage to a part of my heritage, my late brother, and my love for anything BBQ. With my heart and the spirit of Texas in mind, Lupita’s B.B.Q Cowboy Collection is created with smoke flavor, Spanish chiles, hints of cilantro, and Mexican oregano.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Re-investing myself hasn’t been easy. Losing my restaurant was devastating but I took it as an opportunity to take a much-needed break, and to figure out what my next step in life would be.

A At the beginning it was hard to look past what was happening in the world. Being in fear, not knowing what was going to happen tomorrow, all of the death that was happening around us. Thinking about being back in business seemed like a faint dream and almost impossible. But what kept me motivated and kept me going was remembering my little brother telling me how proud he was of me for deciding to open up my restaurant. I also had to remember what my other goals were when I decided I wanted to open up a restaurant and become an entrepreneur. Alongside Flavor Food Co. we also just launched a program called “Food For Thought” that will foster family-style discussions over dinner on mental health & wellness, entrepreneurship, and following your dreams. (ADDED) I mention that because without the right tools I would have not made it this far and I think it is important for future entrepreneurs to learn the methods that kept me going during and after the pandemic.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I created FLAVOR! BOLD, DELICIOUS, ONE of a KIND FLAVOR!

Flavor Food Co. is fearless with flavor. Every blend I created will bring your taste buds to a different place and give you an experience. For instance, Lupita’s Seasoning has my heart and the spirit of Texas in mind infused with smoke flavor, Spanish chiles, hints of cilantro, and Mexican oregano.

My products are inspired by my life, my flavor obsessions, and even my family. You aren’t just purchasing seasoning, you are bringing a restaurant experience to your home with a product that is fresh and downright delicious! Some of our products ever even sponsor our Food For Thought Program because it is really really important for me to give back…that’s what my brother would have wanted.

What matters most to you?
What matters to me the most is the legacy of my company. I want to be known for giving my customers fresh, delicious, unique products that are all-natural and made with love. It’s my passion to see people smile from being satisfied from their food. If I see a smile on your face after you eat one of my dishes or after you have tasted my products I know I am doing my job right. It also matters to me to give back to the very same community that loves and supports me. It is really important that I honor my brother and help people in any way I can with their dreams, that’s what he would have wanted. That’s also why the Food for Thought program is so important to me.
