Daily Inspiration: Meet Ronin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ronin

Hi Ronin, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a full-time, independent music artist, and I’ve been performing since I was 8 years old. Music has always been a part of my life, but I didn’t realize just how central it would become. After hitting a breaking point in the corporate world, I lost my sense of purpose and struggled with my mental health for years, to the point where I almost gave up on everything. A day before my 24th birthday, I attempted to take my own life, but something stopped me. I wasn’t ready to leave without answers.

A few weeks later, I got a life-changing role in the startup space, which gave me the freedom to reflect and realize that music had always been my true calling. I had been writing music under a different alias for a few years, experimenting with my sound. I even had the opportunity to share my work with Timbaland, who cosigned me live on TikTok, and his encouragement solidified my belief that this is what I’m meant to do.

Through hard work and self-development, I’ve come to understand that music is more than just sounds—it’s a way to express the struggles we face as adults. Many young people go through experiences they don’t know how to process or talk about, and that’s where my music comes in. I want to create a space where listeners don’t feel alone in their pain and growth.

I recently released my first single, NO VACANCY, and I’m excited for what this year holds and the success that’s to come.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I had significant challenges in giving myself the space to create – both for music and content. When you’re fully independent, you don’t have anyone to make beats, write lyrics, or even promote your music. It’s all you.

Aside from that just learning the industry as a whole is a crucial step in the development process to have successful music releases. It’s so much more than just having talent.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
At heart, I am a singer and songwriter. My soul feels music even in silence. My mind races and I’m always thinking in retrospect about different parts of my life – contemplating what’s next.

I take pride in the time I spent with each part of the creative process. The lyrics, the beats, the art, the content, it’s all deliberate. Nothing is trendy or low quality.

It’s an anecdote to my identity. Always against the grain, never wanting to compartmentalize for others. My art is mine and if you don’t like it, that’s fine with me.

What were you like growing up?
I have always been driven. I have always been the type of person that if I see something I want, I do everything in my power to get it. And sometimes have a really hard time accepting when I don’t.

On the other side I’m pretty nerdy. I still collect and play with trading cards. I love games, how they’re made, and the process of achieving everything within a game.

Aside from all these, I am a family man. My people stay close to me and I never let them go too far.
