Daily Inspiration: Meet Sis. Christina Muhammad

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sis. Christina Muhammad.

Hi Sis. Christina, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Sis. Christina Muhammad, I am a ministry of First Responders! What I mean by that is years ago, I was really interested in becoming a minister. It was a rough path for me, more political than I wanted to deal with. God told me to go outside of the four walls and teach. So I took up my ministry in the warning of disasters and how to prepare you and your family ready so we will not be swept away. After watching Hurricane Katrina and what my people went through, I decided that I didn’t want to see that happen anymore so I went to work. I started studying, looking for what training was needed to start training people that looked like me how to be self-sufficient and to prepare so we will not be in jeopardy of what was and is coming are disaster across the land.

October 10, 2015, The Honorable Minister Farrakhan asked for 10,000 Fearless individuals. Oh, I know that this was a call for me. We then renamed our disaster Preparedness team and started to be called 10,000 Fearless First Responders. I thought this was perfect because I heard the Minister say that it will only be a fearless person who would run into a situation that most are running out of. I knew that was key.

Introducing our team 10,000 Fearless First Responders. We have built a strong team of first responders who have given their word to sacrifice time money to protect and serve and train and safe our people. This team consists of black and brown people who are ready and willing to take accountability and is ready to stop blaming and start producing and giving back what is needed. We have teams across this mighty nation including states as follows: Austin, San Antonio, Ft. Worth, Dallas, Louisiana, Atlanta, California, Detroit, New York, Chicago.

Some of the things that the team has done with and for the community. We have adopted many apartment complexes here in the city of Austin, Pflugerville, Texas. Another one of our ministries is we protect and serve. We have several security officers who goes to events throughout Austin and keep watch over the people. We have formed a relationship here in Austin with the understanding that we will secure the inside of an event because we don’t carry guns and if we need the police, we know where they are. This was formed because there is too much shooting and killing of the black and brown man and this has to stop. So here in Austin Texas we are the alternative to police.

We feed more than 1000 people every week for free and also find citywide resources to help the city. We have helped with many disasters such as: The massive storm in Baton Rouge that was so bad caskets from the cemetery were sailing down the street in August of 2016. Hurricane Harvey.

In 2019, we responded to an F5 Tornado in Ruston Louisiana. 2018 Wildfires in California (we were flown up to assist in the search and rescue operation). Hurricane in Bahamas in 2019 Hurricane Dorian. 2021, we responded to the Snow Storm in Austin, Texas.

In every last one of these storms, we brought lots of resources with us. Food and water is the main resource that is needed. Many of the major hurricanes we helped by cleaning out homes rebuilding and whatever was needed.

I am a Certified CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) Trainer and also Certified to teach CPR Training. So with these skills, we have moved throughout the nation, training teams to become first responders so the community can assist the Police, Firefighters, EMS during the times of disasters. We have trained hundreds upon hundreds of people from cities all over this nation, such as Texas, New York, Detroit, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Chicago, Atlanta, California and many more.

Currently, we own 100 acres of land, which we are teaching and training adults and how youth how to be self-sufficient. Farming is the all at this point. It was a blessing to start this team. I am so thankful to God for allowing me and my husband Reginald Muhammad for starting this team. What we have accomplished together is so divine to us. I’m so thankful that this team has worked so hard we now have a Proclamation in Austin, Texas, the capital. So every Feb 27th, that is the day of the 10,000 Fearless First Responders!

I’m all over the place; sorry it so much this is just a few things. The overall takeaway is that we are a First Responder team started by Sis. Christina and Reginald Muhammad. We have been serving and protecting people all across this world and it’s an honor. Our team is so awesome and we are thankful for them for sticking out with us for so many years. We work together and we understand that there is no I in Team!

On the other side of disasters, I do a lot of work with women. People think disasters are only in the weather. We scoop out disasters everyday. I work with young women to help teach them how to love themselves. A lot of our women have lost their children to the system because of one mistake. Once you make that mistake, it is over. I work with women who have had their children taken by the system and they have been a victim of foster care abuse. I’m currently working with a young woman who will be coming out very soon. I adopted her children ten years ago who her children were in foster care and abuse was suspected. She was a product of abuse as well. I will continue to help these young women come out and tell their stories. These disasters are sometimes more traumatic that a F5 hurricane. Where ever there are disaster in our community we the 10,000 Fearless First Responders will find them and assist

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No anything of value can’t be smooth. When a diamond is found before it’s of any value, it must be put through the fire. Our team has been through the fire and back. Sacrifice is the keyword. We have done a great job of getting our communities’ trust and respect and honor. When we started the team, everything came out of our pocket, I mean everything. We had to establish relationships to get resources for our people.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have been in the medical field for 22 years and I am currently 45 years old. I am a certified Dialysis Tech, Certified Phlebotomist, a medical assistant, I am CERT Trainer, CPR certified, First Aid Instructor. I have my ham radio and love teaching the importance of. I am a licensed security officer. I can say that myself and my husband own our own First Responder Teams across this nation. We specialize in people and the need to find solutions. We love to teach and build more leaders. Everything that I’m good at is to help and better our community. It’s also a blessing to work and share this common goal with man who I love my husband, Reginald Muhammad.

How do you define success?
Success to me is when we all become great at what our team’s mission is! We will not stop until everyone is prepared for the next disaster and are self-sufficient. Love is the ultimate success, Love ye one another.
