Today we’d like to introduce you to Trai Mosley.
Hi Trai, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I was born in Austin, Texas and grew up playing football, but always had a passion for all things creative. I quickly became one of the top names amongst other players in my position and earned a full-ride scholarship from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014. Soon after in 2016, I would transfer to The University of Central Arkansas where I would have what most may call a career-ending neck injury. He sat out for the 2016 football season and decided to pick up a camera in the spring of 2016. He quickly found a new passion where he could use his creativity and tell stories through a camera lens.
After finishing up his career playing football at The University of Central Arkansas, he would go on to earn his bachelor’s degree in Health Science and get his Master’s Degree in Sports Management. After college, I moved back to Austin, Texas where he dedicated his time to becoming an entrepreneur and starting his business, “Damrich Studios.” Coming into 2022 he would start traveling around becoming a personal photographer/videographer for multiple professional athletes. I also started another business, ” BET ON YOURSELF.” with my partner Kieron Williams which is a media agency.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It most definitely has not been an easy road after my neck injury. I had to decide whether I wanted to continue playing football or I wanted to move onto a different career path and it was hard because I grew up and all I knew was football and making it to the NFL so when the situation arose I didn’t know what exactly I wanted to do for a while. I had a year to sit down and think about it and I decided that going down the creative path was for me. Art class was always the most enjoyable and I’d look forward to it. I wanted to align myself in that field and with social media growing at the time I wanted to make sure that I took advantage of the space.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I own a creative media agency called, “Damrich Studios” and we do photography, videography, and graphic design. We specialize in branding and marketing for businesses and/or people. I’ve had the opportunity to travel around with NFL players like Robert Rochell of the Los Angeles Rams and Tre Brown of the Seattle Seahawks and I have created lifestyle content as well as sports content for them as well. I think about how they gave me those opportunities often and I couldn’t be more grateful.
I think the thing that sets me apart from others is my connections. I have a wide range of connections due to playing sports and once you get in that space, you’re not only meeting athletes but you meet business people as well. It opened me up to learn more about the business side of things and how businesses run, as well as how I could be of service to them with my agency.
