Hi Veronica, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Absolutely. My story is deeply personal and woven into every part of BellaVee. I grew up in a small town in Idaho and was raised primarily by my mom, who went through a very difficult relationship. That early exposure to trauma shaped a lot of how I saw the world, but it also opened the door for me to seek healing through spiritual exploration, therapy, and creative expression.
In my twenties, I pursued a career in beauty and wellness, working in spas and salons across Arizona and eventually settling in Austin, Texas. But I always felt called to something deeper—something that combined my love for healing, design, and meaning. After leaving a long-term relationship and essentially starting over, I poured myself into creating BellaVee—a wellness brand that honors self-care, intention, and community.
What started as a passion project quickly turned into a full business. I taught myself coding, design, and product development, and I now handcraft crystal-infused candles, curate self-care gift boxes, and collaborate with artisans and nonprofits to give back. BellaVee is more than a business—it’s a reflection of everything I’ve learned about resilience, beauty, and living with purpose.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s definitely not been a smooth road—and honestly, I don’t think it was ever meant to be. Starting a business from scratch with no outside funding, while healing from personal loss and major life transitions, has been one of the hardest things I’ve ever done.
There were times I questioned everything—whether I was capable, whether anyone would care about what I was creating, whether I could keep going. I’ve faced burnout, imposter syndrome, financial stress, and the loneliness that can come with building something on your own. And like many small business owners, I’ve had to learn through trial and error—sometimes expensive ones.
But every struggle has deepened my why. It’s shown me that I’m stronger than I thought, and that meaningful things take time. I’ve learned to trust myself, pace myself, and keep showing up, even when it’s hard. And that’s been the most powerful part of the journey.
