Daily Inspiration: Meet Wendy Daza

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wendy Daza.

Hi Wendy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In 2021, my husband and I decided to adopt a dog, we waited two months while she grew and we waited to pick her up when she was ready for adoption.
Meanwhile we picked up another dog to foster for a few days until he was sent to Virginia to be adopted but from that moment I we wanted to adopt him and he stayed with us. Since we got those two rescued dogs, I started to realize all the abandon of dogs in Mexico. At that time I started looking for help for the dogs in Monterrey, Mexico. I helped them for a place to stay meanwhile they got adopted and still continue helping them.

In October 2024 we found two dogs that were abandoned in Manor, TX. One is kept at my mother in-law’s house which is Oreo and the other is kept at my house for the time being which is Nala. They both are up for adoption.

In January 2025 I found a homeless person on the street with a dog named Oreo, a blue heeler, who had just been abandoned. We immediately had her fostered then adopted within a few days.
Another story is about a dog named Choco. He was in the summer heat for more than an hour. I rescued him with several other peoples help including APD and found him a good wealthy home.

I have also rescued cats, several have found a home in Texas, we kept two, I have taken them to be sterilized.

I have many stories of puppies that I have helped and found a home in Monterrey, Mexico. As of now I am currently helping in Texas. There is a lot of abandonment of dogs and cats. I share their stories and I help other rescuers to share and find homes for them.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The challenges to these dogs and cats is finding them foster homes, especially getting them adopted. Depending on the breed some last a week or two others up to several months. Also training them, potty time, getting along with other dogs and teething.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
People that foster the dogs and cats, people that share the post and the vets that helps in Mexico.
