We’re looking forward to introducing you to DavyTheStylist Davyoughna Luckie. Check out our conversation below.
Good morning Davyoughna , we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
I lose track of time whenever I’m in my creative zone pulling looks for clients, curating my boutique, or sketching ideas for the next collection. That process feels effortless, almost like I slip into another world where everything aligns. Outside of fashion, I find myself again in quiet moments of self-care sitting by the lake, being near the water, or spending a day at the spa. Those simple rituals, along with meditation and affirmations, remind me to pause, recharge, and come back to myself. That balance between creativity and self-love is what keeps me centered and allows me to show up fully in my work and my life.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Davyoughna, but most people call me Davy. I’m a fashion stylist and the founder of Davyoughna’s Boutique here in Austin, Texas. My brand is all about empowering women and girls to embrace their individuality, confidence, and divine femininity through style.
What makes my boutique unique is that it blends high-fashion energy with real-life wearability, giving people a chance to feel bold, beautiful, and unforgettable every day. Right now, I’m especially excited about my newest project, The Mini Glam Squad, which creates fun, stylish experiences for kids to express themselves through fashion in an age-appropriate way. For me, fashion is more than clothing it’s about building confidence and inspiring the next generation to shine.
Appreciate your sharing that. Let’s talk about your life, growing up and some of topics and learnings around that. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
The part of me that I’ve released is the version of myself that played small or doubted my worth. For a long time, I felt like I had to overgive or settle, whether in relationships or even in business. But that season taught me lessons about boundaries, confidence, and knowing my value. Now, I’ve stepped into a space where I no longer carry those cycles I embrace who I am fully, and I no longer dim my light to make others comfortable.
If you could say one kind thing to your younger self, what would it be?
If I could say one kind thing to my younger self, I would tell her she is beautiful, confident, and secure in the body she’s in. I’d remind her that she never has to dim her light or question her worth because everything she needs is already within her. And I’d give her the biggest hug, just to let her know she’s safe, loved, and exactly where she’s meant to be.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What truths are so foundational in your life that you rarely articulate them?
One truth that grounds me is that everything I need is already within me. I’ve learned that confidence, self-love, and resilience are the greatest foundations once you have those, everything else aligns. Another truth I hold is that fashion is more than just clothing; it’s a language of power, identity, and freedom. Those values are so woven into who I am that I don’t always say them out loud, but they guide everything I create and every way I show up in the world.
Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
I’m definitely doing what I was born to do. Even as a little girl, I was drawn to fashion and spaces that felt special. I still remember when I got my first allowance, I went to Big Lots looking through clearance books, and I wandered into my very first boutique that was a couple stores down from Big Lots. I was in complete awe. Something in me just knew: one day, I would have a boutique of my own. I’ll never forget when the lady there told me, ‘You will have a boutique.’ That moment stuck with me, and today, building my brand feels like the fulfillment of that childhood vision. It’s not something I was told to do it’s something I was born to do.
