Hi Devish, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born in a village in India. My family moved to the States when I was four. We moved a lot and finally settled in Kansas of all places. I always loved Austin, so I went to undergrad at UT that only solidified my love for this city. I always wanted to settle down in Austin, and we got the opportunity to open our South Lamar office and we ran with it. We knew if we wanted to compete in this space, we would have to be different and fit the personality of this town. We set out to create a brand that our patients and profession can be proud of. We had a ton of success focusing on the right things, and we are expanding with that framework in mind!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Not at all. As dentists, we are trained to love and care for teeth, and that’s it. All of the intangible skills needed to be an effective leader/business owner came with the understanding that everything will not be perfect, but the goal is to learn and grow at the same time.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are a group of dental practices that aim to change the dentist’s customer experience. We are not ignorant of the fact that people generally do not look forward to going to the dentist, and we want to help change that perception. We provide a dental experience to our patients using a fully digital workflow for complete transparency. The hardest part about my job is telling strangers they have a bunch of health concerns that do not have symptoms, and having the ability to take digital pics and radiographs allows us to educate patients on their oral health. This helps set us apart, focusing on customer experience with a comfort menu, facility tours, Netflix, and convenient online scheduling. The thing I’m most proud of is hearing patients tell me, “I haven’t been to a dentist in a long time, but I hear such great things about your office, so I decided it was time.” <——-THAT IS THE POINT! I want readers to know that we are changing how people feel about dentist visits. We offer the highest quality dentistry and a great experience to go with it. Services include professional whitening, cosmetic dentistry, complimentary consultations for Invisalign, implants, and sedation dentistry.
What matters most to you? Why?
Improvement matters to me the most. Each day I want to be better than the day before because you are getting worse if you are not getting better.
