Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddy Padilla.
Hi Maddy, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I guess you could say I always had that “passion for fashion”, but it really hit me when I was in high school. I realized how confident I felt in myself when I was wearing a cute outfit. I was definitely always the overdressed one and had that “go big or go home” mentality. Finding the courage to actually fulfill a dream of owning my own clothing store that could represent a REAL body was quite hard to move forward with. You automatically start to doubt yourself and start thinking, “what will my friends and family think?”.
In August of 2019, I finally made my decision to move forward and start pursuing my dreams. The main purpose of creating ShopHoney was to mirror a shopping experience I wanted growing up – a luxe experience, timeless pieces, affordable prices. I want to empower women and help them feel strong, beautiful, sexy and comfortable in what they wear. In the fast fashion trends of today you’ll find yourself wearing a piece a few times and tossing it away. I want you to have pieces that you’ll keep reaching for in your closet that comes with longevity. I want you to be able to associate yourself with a brand that makes you feel high-minded and whole.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely… NOT. There are definitely days or even weeks where I feel like a complete failure. I was juggling working a normal job, going to school full-time, and taking care of my little family at home. It’s hard to not compare yourself to other businesses similar to yours… and I would find myself doing that! Getting no sales for weeks on end and watching my competitors and peers get consistent sales made me feel horrible knowing I wasn’t doing the same.

ShopHoney was created for the woman who loves the finer things in life… but with a realistic budget. I am extremely hands on with this business and make decisions based off making you feel like you really know me and the brand fully. I take pride in our clothing, our branding, and how I package our products. Nonetheless, I want you to feel like you relate to ShopHoney. Realistic clothing on realistic bodies while feeling luxurious in them. Most of our inspiration comes from YOU.

Honestly… I’m quite the open book. I’m sure a handful of people know this already but I LOVE DIY projects, cooking new dishes, and trying just about anything in order to find new hobbies. I also love coffee…. but never finish it.
