Today we’d like to introduce you to Amaka Nwachukwu
Hi Amaka, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Since I was in middle school was business minded. One year, I sold my Halloween candy. I packaged the candy in cute party bags and sold them to my peers at school, when I saw how much of a success it was I started buying candy at the Dollar Store and continued on with my little hustle. I loved that people came too me for my goodies instead of the vending machines and it was a great way I made friends. My Freshman and Sophomore year I turned your typical Ramen Noodles into a delectable meal by sprucing it up with sautéed chicken, onions, garlic and veggies. When I became a Junior in College, I was known for being a good cook so people started asking if I could cook for them and thats when I started making plates for my peers. I continued on a little after College. My first love is cooking, in fact, I just enjoy creating delicious food. Cooking and baking allow me to delight in my creativeness. I have a full time job that completely requires the left side of my brain, so Ada’s Treats brings balance to my life. I love trying new recipes and tweaking old ones. I have never been a fan of store bought desserts because it doesn’t satisfy my taste buds, I am a bakery girlie through and through. When the pandemic hit, we were very limited on where we could go to eat, this is were I started cooking and baking a lot more and I shared them with my family and friends. Fast forward to October 2024, I decided to start a legit cottage baking business and birthed Ada’s Treats LLC.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been predominantly smooth sailing for me in the beginning since I was at a smaller scale but now, what I find to be the most struggle is balancing my personal, work and school life. I am not social media savvy, I have not done a great job at figuring out the algorithm to get better visibility, so I’d say thats been a struggle.

I define success as the alignment of personal values, goals, and actions with the outcomes that bring fulfillment and positive impact, both for myself and others. It’s not just about external achievements or measurable milestones—it’s also about the journey and how it feels along the way. Success for Ada’s Treats is continued growth in the community and in turn being able to help support the community. We have some ideas that we are trying to bring into fruition, stay tuned!
