Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Worner.
Hi Amber, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
It’s a long story……..I’ll give you the short version! I became a child psychotherapist to help support kids and families in a way that I wish my family had growing up. You see, we all parent from our past, weather we are aware of it or not. I grew up with incredibly loving parents who were parenting from their own past. When I had kids guess what? I was no exception! By the grace of God I was immersed in a career where I had to look at my past, and understand what healthy parenting looks like. Fun fact, 80 percent of us parent from the same parenting attachment style that our great grandparents parented from.
I only work with children whose parents are willing to work with me from a parent coaching perspective because I see that generalizes change much faster in families. That passion has lead to public speaking, teaching, and online classes to support families who want to parent their children from a place that builds resiliency, confidence, security, and love that has a ripple effect for generations to come. I specialize in teaching Christian parents because I’m passionate about teaching parenting principals that align with the love of Jesus, although the principals are beneficial for all beliefs. My new venture Well House Healing is a wellness spa for mind, body, and spirit healing. My love and passion for holistic healing and biohacking came from a place of deep grief and pain. Nineteen years ago my husband and I were elated to be pregnant with out first child. That elation quickly turned to overwhelming sorrow when multiple doctors misread my ultrasound, diagnosed me with an ectopic pregnancy, and killed our baby utilizing a drug called methotrexate. In retrospect the words of the nurse still haunt me today saying that it must have been the “full moon” because they have had an abnormal number of ectopic pregnancies that week. I still wonder how many Mommies lost viable babies in that practice to misdiagnosis. This experience was a painful lesson on trusting my body, intuition, and taking health into my own hands. Through a grieving prayer God put people in my life to teach me how to heal my family “with my own hands.” I’m now ready to share this widsom and walk beside others who are ready to begin the journey to feel their best within a loving and supporting community. Well House Healing offers red light bed, PEMF, infrared sauna, cold plunge, oxygen therapy, vibration therapy, and much more! This passion project is going to be epic. Frontyard was created to be a community focused business. We of course want to make money and pay our bills, but our goal has always been to leave the community better than when we found it. When my husband Chad founded Frontyard, this was the part I was most excited about. Fun fact, I’m not a beer drinker, that’s why we have fabulous hand crafted seltzer cocktails, mocktails, and THC/CBD drinks.
To be honest after opening we found ourselves floundering just to keep our heads above water. Learning to run food trucks, a brewery, and cope with COVID were just a few of the roadblocks we were up against. We have two incredible boys, I’m a pediatric psychotherapist, parenting coach, and speaker by profession and still work in my private practice, CareFully Counseling. As many entrepreneurs can relate, there never felt like there were enough hours in the day. I felt God urging me not to miss a beautiful opportunity to live out our manifesto with intention. Being intentional in life is something that I’m passionate about. There’s always time to make a difference. If not you, then who?
This party of ours manifesto particularly inspired us to start Social Collective.
“Our neighborhood is more than one house or one block or event one street. It’s the people. And here, we look out for each other, we help one another. We’re neighborly. That’s why our goal isn’t simply to brew beer. It’s to craft community. Beer is just the invitation.”
Our original intention was to host a ladies night give back to local nonprofits benefiting woman and children in our community. For the past 3 years, that’s just what we’ve done! Giving over ____ to make our backyard a better place. What has surprised me most is the beautiful community of ladies that show up every month to collectively do good for our community, and encourage one another along the way. I often say that I come depleted after a long day of kids and work, and leave Social Collective full of life and energy. The woman, they are incredible, gentle, kind, loving, and open to greet whoever walks in the door. It’s a intergenerational group; ladies from their 20’s to their 80’s show up. It’s so unique and refreshing in this political climate to have ladies from all ages, beliefs, and walks of life to show up in harmony and love. Such a beautiful lesson I wish the world could learn.
We meet the 1st Tuesday of every month from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Check Frontyard Brewing’s Instagram for the monthly event details. Our events are free to the public, and Frontyard donates all the profit made to the nonprofits we are supporting. We also have local businesses donate raffle prizes. Tickets are 5 bucks (there are some incredible donations) and all of that money is given to the charity. If you are a local business and would like to donate please reach out! Local ladies, come join us in collectively making our community a better place! To learn more go to www.frontayrdbrewing.com and find the “Social Collective” tab.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
For parent coaching I work two way; with or without the child. I’m renowned for normalizing the concept of imperfect parenting and meeting parents exactly where they are in a supportive and empowering manner. My mission is to equip them with the skills needed to confidently nurture resilience, responsible, adaptable, capable, confident, and loving children. With local clients In tandem I’m working with the child. Parents are acquiring skills they need to generalize change in the system to support the child who is struggling. As a child therapist, my approach stands out from the conventional. I often take therapy sessions beyond the office, immersing kids in nature to enrich their experiences. My work begins with developing an affirming relationship with each child, building their sense of self, and over time through our relationship we explore behaviors that may be hindering them. Together, we work on developing any skills they may need along their journey.
For Frontyard, I’m most proud that we’ve stayed true to our mission to leave our community better than we’ve found it.
For Well House Healing – TBD. I’m so excited to launch.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
I don’t believe in luck. I believe in prayer, miracles, hard work, and community support.
