Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Mullins.

Hi Amy, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started Hill Country Events in 1998 after my daughter was born.
I wanted to be at home with my daughter on the weekdays.
I love helping bring my friends’ visions to life and saw this as a good opportunity to do something that I love and make a few dollars.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
2009 was a tough year. The economy tanked in 2008 but the event industry didn’t see the effects until 2009.
Covid was a bit of a challenge. Everything in my industry shut down on the 17th of March 2020.
When everything finally opened up again, we were trying to take in new business while honoring all of the events that had been cancelled.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hill Country Events?
Hill Country Events is a staffing company that specializes in mixology.
We always source fresh ingredients when possible.
We will try to use local brands and smaller companies when possible.
We also coordinate events, though we only take a limited amount of coordination opportunities as Amy will always be at the event.
Hill Country Events was one of the very first mobile bartending companies in the Austin area.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
We are always excited to see what is around the corner!
