Exploring Life & Business with Conner Womble of Millennium Media Management

Today we’d like to introduce you to Conner Womble.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
When it comes to Millennium Media Management, my story really started long before the business itself was started.

In 2009, when I was in 9th grade, I unknowingly injured my thoracic spine – right in the middle of my back between my shoulder blades – while playing football as an offensive lineman. The initial injury likely wouldn’t have been too serious since I continued to play and practice at full, but it was with a sharp, stabbing, persistent pain left-of-center in the middle of my back from then on.

Over the next ten years, four of them active football playing years, that pain would become worse and begin to spread up, and then down my spine. In 2019 when I had just turned 25 years old, I’d be diagnosed with degenerative disc disease in my thoracic and lumbar spine, affecting seven separate discs.

Each disc is bulging either to the left or right, pressing on my nerves and causing radiating nerve pain, arthritis that’s getting worse, spinal compression and misalignment that pulls on the muscles and tendons in my back, which results in muscular pain, and loss of range of motion. This long journey began a thought process which now aims to set up my wife, myself and our future children for the unknown future.

Fast forward to the year 2020 when the pandemic was raging and I was laid off. During the hardest time of my life to that date due to the stress from all the uncertainty and constant pain in my back, I was sitting up late at night trying to figure out what to do, and made the decision to go for it. I decided to invest in myself and my family’s future in an attempt to give us a path, and attempt to secure ourselves financially in case one day I am unable to work at the same pace as I can currently. So in 2021, I started Millennium Media Management.

Currently, I’m focused on building my business and clientele within the Austin, Texas area as well as throughout the nation should the opportunity arise. One client saw as much as 80% growth in one of her key performance indicators during the month of July. So, it’s going well!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It absolutely hasn’t been a smooth road considering the back injuries, but I’d say the largest obstacle to my startup would be the economy.

Early on, while I was developing the business plan, its structure, the services I’d offer, building my website and socials, etc. – all the normal things you do while in the early stages of business, the economy was fine. It wasn’t booming since many pandemic measures were still in place and being enforced, but it was at least level. Now, with businesses being crushed by crazy inflation, it’s harder to get potential clients to invest in external services like mine, no matter how effective those services might be. People become very apprehensive when their future is uncertain. Even worse, the current economic conditions and inflationary pressures don’t look like they’ll be easing anytime soon. Not exactly the economic situation you’d ask for when starting a business.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Millennium Media Management?
Millennium Media Management is my social media marketing and management company specializing in organic social media growth, social media marketing, and social media advertising. I also provide search engine optimization (SEO) services for business’ websites and social media accounts (yes, that’s a thing lol). I am currently our only social media manager, however, in the future my business plan is to scale the business up and hire on more people to help handle our growing clientele.

Currently, Millennium offers social media management, which for our service plan includes a range of services. Included in that one service are: profile management, follower/customer engagement and management, SEO adjustments, content creation, content editing, copywriting, social media advertisement creation and scheduling, and online product marketing.

What sets us apart is how I approach social media. I’m really a marketer at heart. Many social media managers only manage their clients’ accounts – the client takes the pictures, makes the content, engages with their own customers/followers, etc. I look at social media like a marketing platform – a medium all its own instead of a place to have fun and promote your business every once in a while. I use social media platforms to grow my clients’ business(es). One client has seen almost 40 percent positive growth over just 5 months. When it comes to content creation, I either help them make their content or do it for them outright, all while staying on-brand. I’m fully hands-on when it comes to my clients’ accounts. I’m proud of that and the customer service I provide.

While Millennium is a new social media agency, I’m confident in the product and services I offer, as well as my ability to get the results my clients want and need.

Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
Honestly, I’d say I’ve had just about zero luck in or around my business venture. I’ve worked hard in a difficult economic environment to ensure my business remains open and operating. But, if you know someone with a little luck, it’s welcomed!
