Today we’d like to introduce you to Jill Bentley.
Hi Jill, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Stoke Juice was started in the back of my parents grocery store in a small town in Western Canada. With a passion to reduce produce waste I was motivated to find ways to use up a half a case of lemons here a few bunches of kale there. The company organically grew into much more than just a little juicing project. We now have a home base in Western Canada and Austin, Texas. Seems like a long cry from Texas right? Well, my life and business partner Alistair is from Texas so when the opportunity arose to start juicing in Austin, we jumped on it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Never, that would just be boring! Although, covid has made things a little extra spicy. It’s been a crazy year to navigate but things are rapidly growing now and we are super excited for the year ahead.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
There are a couple core values we have at Stoke! It’s important to us to work as closely as possible with local farmers to juice organic, local and seasonal ingredients. We truly want to make the best juice possible in both taste and nutritional density. In an effort to reduce our carbon footprint we choose to package our products in glass and we encourage customers to return them for a refund. We want to get as many uses out of each bottle as possible. Every bottle is sanitized and refilled with 100% organic fresh juice!
Our glass bottles sets us apart from other companies. We think that juice just simply tastes much better from a glass vs. a plastic bottle. Our mission to reduce our footprint doesn’t stop there. Even though we have grown our roots still hold strong in that we still don’t discriminate against imperfect produce.
One of the things we are most proud of is that our juice is 100% organic. We want to nourish people with the most clean juice possible so they can feel their best!
How do you define success?
We think success is that point in time that you feel the same gratification buying a juice or organic food that they feel when you purchase a shirt or a new car. There is huge value in consuming fresh/organic nutrients, it will not only improve your life but also likely extend it!
