Jorge, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I discovered my passion for filmmaking at 17. It started with an Instagram post, one of those one minute travel videos showcasing landscapes and citytours. I was hooked. I convinced my parents to get me a camera and started experimenting, filming videos around San Antonio, Tx, and family trips. At first, it was just for fun, but editing soon became an obsession. I taught myself the basics using Premiere Pro, and after countless late nights, I got good enough to create videos that excited others as much as they excited me.
By 2019, I realized this hobby could become a career. I saw how businesses were shifting their focus to social media and video content, and I wanted to help them stand out. I started freelancing, offering video production services to small businesses, which quickly gained traction. The more I worked, the more I learned—not just about filmmaking but about storytelling and connecting with audiences.
Eventually, this led to founding Ovlivion MKT, a creative agency where we specialize in crafting cinema-quality video content for businesses of all sizes. We’ve worked with some incredible clients, from global brands to local businesses. Seeing our videos help a clients grow or connect with larger audience is what keeps me inspired.
The journey hasn’t been smooth. I’ve faced challenges like navigating a new culture when my family moved from Mexico City to the U.S., learning English as a second language, and breaking into a highly competitive industry. But every challenge taught me resilience and pushed me to innovate. Today, Ovlivion MKT is more than just a business; it’s a reflection of my journey and the stories we’ve had the privilege to tell along the way.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, this industry is incredibly competitive, and standing out is tough. Building a reputation in such a crowded space requires more than just technical skills. Networking, earning trust, and, most importantly, being a reliable partner are critical. Clients need to know they can count on you to deliver high-quality work on time, every time. Consistency, clear communication, and a willingness to adapt have been just as important as creativity and storytelling in my journey. These traits have helped me build strong relationships and show that I’m not just a creative, I’m a dependable business.
Another key to success is building a solid network and continuously aiming to collaborate with talented professionals. Surrounding yourself with people who challenge and inspire you not only improves your craft but also opens doors to opportunities you might not have reached alone. In a crowded industry, your network and your reputation are your greatest assets, and prioritizing both is critical for sustained growth and success.

Over the next 5–10 years, I see AI as a transformative force in the creative industry—arguably the greatest invention since the iPhone. Just like smartphones revolutionized how we communicate and access information, AI will redefine how creatives work and innovate. It’s not about replacing creativity but enhancing it. AI will become a tool that empowers creatives to access new knowledge, generate fresh ideas, explore innovative techniques, and adapt to every situation.
From simplifying repetitive tasks to enabling deeper experimentation in storytelling, AI will help us push the boundaries of what’s possible. It will allow creatives to focus more on their vision and less on the logistics, making the creative process more dynamic and efficient. The true power of AI lies in its ability to unlock new potential, giving us the means to think bigger, move faster, and connect with audiences in ways we’re only beginning to imagine.
