Hi Marisol, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Coming from a huge family, I remember birthdays being such huge events. This tradition carried on when I had my one little family. Every year I would start planning my kid’s parties months in advance. But, like everyone else, I had small dinners for their birthdays during the pandemic. My daughter’s 15th birthday was no exception, I planned a small dinner and set out to create decorations including a balloon wall. Even though her quinceanera was scheduled a few months away from her actual birthday I wanted her to feel special that day. The few guests that were invited to her dinner were taken back from the balloon wall I created and could not believe that I had created it myself. From that point on I found my new hobby of creating memorable balloon decorations for all events. I set out a goal to sell a few valentines day balloon gifts which exploded. I received so many inquiries for birthdays, weddings, quinceanera’s, and other events. I couldn’t believe it, I was overwhelmed with how many people wanted to hire me as their balloon lady. I loved every minute of creating garlands, arches, and balloon bouquets for my clients. Something about designing the main focus point for an event excites me. Today my services have expanded to include backdrops, floral arrangements, and of course anything balloon-related.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I think in the beginning I was so eager to take on clients not realizing that there was a huge supply shortage in the balloon industry like many industries, which still continues today. Like any business owner, I have learned to strategize for popular supplies and products.

My advice for anyone starting out in the balloon/event industry is to have patience for your growth. Rome was not built in a day.
