Today we’d like to introduce you to Raja Sampathi.
Hi Raja, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, let’s briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in India and came to grad school in the US about 2 decades ago. Contrary to expectations, neither I nor my family practiced mindfulness when I was in India. I started my career in management consulting after grad school and continued in the same industry until the end of 2020. And in parallel to my work, I started my mindfulness and awareness journey. The reason I started calmcorporate was during the beginning of the pandemic, with ultimate chaos reigning and world order seeming to crumble down, I realized (a few months into) it that even though I was single, living alone, with no dog, etc, I was leading a very joyful life. It dawned on me because I was taking the essence of my mindfulness practices (which I fell into the deep end of in 2019) and applying it to my work and life. Even though work got tougher and longer, I was no longer affected by its stress! My relationship with my mother and sister in India improved tremendously as I was able to spend more intentional time with them. Pretty soon after that, I heard the divine telling me, “Congrats on figuring out life (some); now you’ve got to share it with the rest of the world,’ and here I am, offering corporate mindfulness courses & workshops designed for the modern corporate world.
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Haha, quite the contrary. There have been and continue to be plentiful struggles. I used to get applause from C-level execs for putting up pretty power points on a screen, and now I realize the challenges of being a solopreneur building every block of my business myself. It has been a very humbling journey. And I don’t want anything handed to me on a platter. The struggle is the most glorious part of the journey. As I build calmcorporate, I’m going on an inner journey of transformation and resilience. I take this as a blessing.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about calmcorporate?
I’m a Corporate Mindfulness Trainer, and calmcorporate is my brand. At calmcorporate, I channel a unique blend of personal transformation experiences and a rich management consulting background to guide leaders and organizations into reaping the rich benefits of mindfulness. My journey began during a high point in my career, ironically coinciding with a personal low. This dichotomy pushed me towards transformative practices like meditation, plant medicine, and shamanic insights. By weaving these profound experiences with practical business understanding, I’ve crafted mindfulness strategies that resonate with the corporate world.
My offerings are more than just mindfulness techniques:
🌟Mindfulness in Motion: Modern Workplace Toolkit (online & on demand)
🌟Serenity & Success: Business Transformation Suite (online & on demand)
🌟Elevate & Innovate: Mindful Leadership Workshop (Onsite)

With deep respect for age-old wisdom, I incorporate teachings from Buddhism, Hinduism, and Indigenous traditions. Influences from respected figures like Dr. Tara Brach, Dr. Joe Dispenza, and Shri S.N. Goenka also find their way into my workshops and talks. The tangible impacts I’ve created in the lives of individuals and teams echo my commitment. Through courses, keynotes, and workshops, I’ve not only enhanced work cultures but have also elevated personal lives, making them more joyful, connected, and fulfilled.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Persistence trumps Talent. I only had experience starting or running a business after calmcorporate. This journey has not just been one of professional growth but also a wonderful personal one.
