Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Haynes.
Hi Sam, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Six years ago, I was turned down for a small promotion by the company I worked for in Hawaii and quickly realized I would be better off betting on myself. I gave three months notice, trained my replacement, and headed to Texas. From that moment forward, I found my passion as an entrepreneur. Since then, I have co-owned and scaled multiple businesses in the construction industry ranging from remodeling to fencing to demolition. The more I learn, the more I love what I do! Today my primary focus is Longhorn Construction & Development as we service hundreds of local homeowners in the Round Rock Area. I have found that it is “who” you know, not “what” you know, and strive to put people first on every endeavor!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
This has been a challenging road! With each path taken a whole new set of challenges has presented itself! From learning new products, wrapping my mind around systems and efficiency, to sacrificing so that all needs in the businesses are met early on, being an entrepreneur is NOT for the faint of heart. Each time I overcome a struggle along the way, I find the silver lining and learn the lessons. This is the true difference between improving and staying stuck in a rut.
We’ve been impressed with Longhorn Construction & Development, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Longhorn earns its bread & butter by providing quality residential remodels at a fair price! In the fastest-growing city in America work is plentiful but we strive to truly show value to every home we touch in order to build a brand that lasts! We understand that no contractor is perfect, but the response to bumps in the road and shortcomings on a project is what truly sets us apart. We do our best to communicate and set expectations, and when we make a mistake… we ALWAYS make it right!
Any big plans?
I plan to continue to scale Longhorn into a much larger brand. The opportunities are endless, and with the right vision and drive….we will reach the levels we have planned for and set as goals!
