Exploring Life & Business with Savanna Blake of Elevate ETX

Today we’d like to introduce you to Savanna Blake.

Hi Savanna , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Savanna Blake, and I’ve been a personal trainer for nearly three years. I started my journey working in a traditional gym setting, but it didn’t take long before I felt called to do more—to create something of my own. A little over a year ago, I stepped out in faith and launched Elevate ETX.

This path hasn’t always been easy. I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and adversity that tested my faith and determination. But through it all, I held onto one simple truth: we are here to lift and uplift. That’s not just our gym motto—it’s a way of life.

At Elevate ETX, our mission is to create a space where everyone feels welcome. No fear, no judgment—just support, growth, and community. We believe fitness should empower people, not intimidate them. Whether you’re stepping into the gym for the first time or chasing your next big goal, you belong here.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Absolutely not.

I was raised by my incredible single mother alongside my four siblings. As a first-generation American and first-generation college student, I had to learn how to navigate systems I knew nothing about. But it didn’t stop there.

Being a woman in the fitness industry, which is still heavily male-dominated, added another layer of challenge. I often felt like I had to prove myself twice as much just to be seen and heard. And now, as a business owner and founder of Elevate ETX, the road has only continued to throw curves my way.

But every challenge has built resilience. Every detour has deepened my purpose. I wouldn’t trade the struggle, because it shaped me into the woman and leader I am today.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Elevate ETX?
Elevate ETX isn’t just a gym—it’s a movement of healing, hope, and strength that our
community deeply needs. In Elgin and surrounding areas, there are limited options for inclusive,
affordable, and empowering wellness spaces. Too many people feel overlooked, out of place, or
simply don’t know where to start when it comes to taking care of their health—physically,
mentally, or emotionally.

That’s where Elevate ETX comes in.

This vision was born from my own experience. I was working as a personal trainer in a gym that
left me feeling unsupported, invisible, and trapped in a hostile work environment. I wasn’t taught
how to lead with professionalism or purpose—I had to fight to find my own voice. Every day, I
prayed for a way out as I was stuck in a non-compete contract, asking God to show me what
was next. The more I continued my employment at this gym, the more the depression grew, the
loneliness was right there along with it. I had developed a deep love for my clients at my old job
– Truly nothing felt better than knowing I supported Susan, a training client, by being there for
her after workouts, listening to what battles she was carrying and being that person that
encouraged her to keep fighting. Truly nothing felt better than knowing I helped Karina, a
training client, find the strength to keep showing up for herself after a miscarriage. Truly nothing
felt better than knowing with my guidance, Arlene, a training client, is no longer pre-diabetic and
has made tremendous improvement with her health conditions across the board.

I knew my calling was to serve people, to love people, but how under the circumstances I was
facing behind closed doors.

Then one Sunday morning, a woman at my church approached me and said, “The Holy Spirit
told me to tell you to flee your environment.” I knew immediately—that was God answering my
prayers. From that moment forward, doors began opening. God has provided every step of the
way, and I truly believe this grant could be part of what He’s doing through Elevate ETX.

I started with personal training and hosting free monthly events in parks across Bastrop County,
reaching people where they are with encouragement, education, and movement. But my dream is so much bigger than just opening a facility—it’s about building people, especially young women. I want to travel, speak, and pour into girls who don’t yet see their worth, teaching them to love the body God gave them, to find strength through their struggles, and to stand tall in their own identity.
My testimony—of facing adversity, choosing faith, and finding purpose—fuels everything I do.
Elevate ETX is a reflection of that journey. It’s a space where people can come not just to work
out, but to be lifted up and reminded of their value. A space that represents resilience, joy, and
transformation. Our community needs a place like this. A home base for hope. A safe haven for growth. A light that spreads far beyond four walls.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Starting my own business was the biggest risk I’ve ever taken—but it was also the most necessary. I left the security of a steady job at a gym to build something that aligned with my values and vision. I didn’t have a safety net. I had no business degree. What I did have was faith, grit, and a deep belief that I was called to do more.

As a first-generation American, risk has always been part of my story. Nothing about my path was guaranteed. Every step—from pursuing higher education to stepping into leadership in a male-dominated industry—has required me to bet on myself.

And truthfully, I still take risks every day. Every new program, event, or idea I launch comes with uncertainty. But I’ve learned that the biggest rewards come when you’re willing to take the leap, even when the outcome isn’t clear. Growth never happens in comfort zones.
