Exploring Life & Business with Stacey Nelson of Marble Falls Tax Lady

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stacey Nelson.

Hi Stacey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was born and raised in Marble Falls. I knew from a young age that I loved math and I loved a challenge. I started taking college classes while working full time and raising a family. Eventually, I graduated with a Bachelors in Business with Accounting Emphasis from St Edwards University in Austin. I started my own bookkeeping and tax prep out of small office in Granite Shoals and then moved into my husbands business to help him while still having a small space. In 2010, he closed his business and I went into full bookkeeping and tax mode. My business was spreading by word of mouth and growing. In 2013, I hired my first employee and we both worked endlessly to establish a client base while providing excellent, personal service. Fast forward to 2025, we have a much larger office in Marble Falls and a second location in Llano. We currently have 10 full time team members who are all knowledgeable and eager to help! We provide full service bookkeeping, taxes, payroll and CFO services.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It hasn’t always been smooth. We have those difficult clients and well as growing pains, but all in all, it’s been a great adventure. I wouldn’t want to be doing anything else!

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Marble Falls Tax Lady has 2 offices with plans to add more in the coming year. We offer full range bookkeeping and accounting, payroll, tax prep, and CFO services. Whether you are a small sole proprietor or a large corporation, we have the knowledge and expertise to help you with the fun accounting stuff while you focus on your business. We know our clients individually, we learn what their goals, hopes and dreams are and we strive to help them reach that financially by implementing tax savings, wise financing and smart budgeting.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
I think AI will come into play in the next few years as far as trying to step into the accountants role. However, with AI,you are missing that personal touch as well as forward thinking. Its not always black and white and a real person will be able to provide that difference that AI can’t.
