We’re Jenn and Trisha — best friends, business partners, and the proud co-owners of The Girly Birds, a Permanent Makeup, Piercing, and Jewelry Studio in Dripping Springs, Texas.
Our story began long before The Girly Birds ever took flight. We met 17 years ago in dental hygiene school, two young women chasing steady careers but dreaming of something more creative, more personal, and more fulfilling. Over the years, our friendship grew stronger — through marriages, motherhood, and countless cups of coffee — and so did our shared desire to build something of our own.
What started as conversations about possibility slowly became a plan. We both loved the artistry and confidence that came from beauty services, and we knew we wanted to create a space where women could feel comfortable, seen, and celebrated. In 2023, that dream became a reality when we opened our doors in Dripping Springs.
At first, we focused on brows — microblading, powder, and combo styles — but our passion (and our community’s support) quickly inspired us to expand. Today, The Girly Birds offers a full range of services including permanent makeup, lip blushing, eyeliner, fine-line tattoos, ear piercings, and permanent jewelry. Each service was thoughtfully chosen to help our clients feel confident and radiant in their own skin.
In 2024, we officially rebranded as The Girly Birds, a name that perfectly captures who we are — two friends who built something beautiful from the ground up, grounded in friendship, freedom, and creativity.
Now, two years in, we’re so proud of what this little dream has become. From being named Best New Business and Best Cosmetics Studio in Dripping Springs to watching our clients walk out the door with happy tears and new confidence — we’re reminded daily that this is exactly where we’re meant to be.
At the heart of it all, The Girly Birds is more than a studio. It’s a space built on connection, courage, and community — and we’re just getting started.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Like any small business journey, it hasn’t all been smooth — but every bump in the road has shaped us into stronger, more grounded business owners.
When we first opened, we were learning everything at once — building a brand, managing clients, balancing family life, and figuring out the endless details that come with running a new studio. We’re both moms, so finding that balance between building a business and being present for our families was one of our biggest challenges in the beginning. There were long nights, learning curves, and plenty of moments of self-doubt mixed in with the excitement.
Financially and emotionally, it takes a lot to start something from scratch — especially as two women turning a shared dream into a real, sustainable business. We had to learn to wear all the hats: artist, marketer, bookkeeper, cleaner, counselor, and cheerleader. But with every challenge came growth.
The rebrand to The Girly Birds was also a leap of faith — letting go of our original names and trusting that our new identity would connect with our community. It turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve ever made.
Through it all, what’s kept us steady is our friendship and our clients. We’ve leaned on each other during the hard seasons and celebrated every win, big or small. Every obstacle taught us something — about grit, grace, and the power of believing in your dream even when the path isn’t perfectly paved.

Brand-wise, we’re incredibly proud of what The Girly Birds has become. Our rebrand was about more than a new name — it was about creating a brand that reflected us: fun, approachable, feminine, and rooted in friendship. We’ve been honored to be recognized as Best New Business and Best Cosmetics Studio in Dripping Springs, but the real reward is the trust and loyalty of our amazing community.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
We wouldn’t be where we are today without an incredible circle of women, family, and community behind us.
From day one, we’ve been surrounded by people who believed in us — even before we fully believed in ourselves. Our families have been our biggest cheerleaders, helping with kids, late nights, and all the behind-the-scenes chaos that comes with building a business from scratch. They’ve given us the space and support to chase this dream while juggling motherhood and everything else life throws our way.
We’ve also been blessed with an amazing community of women’s groups and local business owners who’ve shared advice, referrals, and encouragement when we needed it most. There’s something incredibly special about women supporting women — and that’s been a constant theme in our journey.
The Dripping Springs Chamber of Commerce has played a huge role, too. From networking to leadership programs and local events, the Chamber has opened doors, introduced us to mentors, and given us a platform to grow as business owners and community leaders. It’s truly been a game-changer for our business and personal development.
And of course, our clients — the women who walk through our doors, trust us with their faces, their stories, and their confidence — they’re the heartbeat of The Girly Birds. Every kind word, every referral, every tag on social media has fueled our growth in ways we’ll never take for granted.
This business was built with the help of so many strong, generous people. We might be the faces behind The Girly Birds, but it’s our community that gave us our wings.
