Hi Valeria, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Valana Jewelry started when my sister Mariana called me randomly and asked if we should start our own jewelry business. We have always had a love for everyday trendy jewelry. Our friends always compliment the jewelry we wear, and we thought, why not share our passion with others. After bouncing ideas back and forth during our first call we decided to begin our journey with Valana. My sister Mariana and I come from a family of Mexican jewelers, and together we decided to start Valana as a way to bring our favorite jewelry pieces from our home country to you!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Valana has been an adventure, we are both full-time students and dog moms, so our lives get busy every now and then! The hardest part about starting your own business is to get the brand out there and figuring out how to do it. It’s been four months since we launched, so we are in the early stages of this project. One of the biggest challenges is finding the balance between our academics, personal life, and Valana. There are only 24 hours in a day and sometimes it is not enough time to do everything we want to do. Not living in the same city as my sister sometimes makes things difficult, we are lucky to have a great relationship and a passion for Valana! We are fortunate to be working on such a fun business and we are excited to continue to create the next big project for Valana!

Valana specializes in fashion jewelry, we do anything gold plated. We love working with clients and learning about how they style their jewelry. My sister and I have designed and handcrafted most of the jewelry, it’s super fun to create a piece and see our clients rocking it! Our goal is to create trendy and affordable jewelry that anyone can wear daily.
