Hi Barbara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
So So Spiffy is an upscale staging business that services central Austin. We are a Birmingham, Alabama-based company and saw the need for staging in the Austin area and launched our first satellite location in the Austin area. The boom in housing spoke to the need for upscale staging. We strive to elevate properties, not simply define a space with staging. We design a space, stage it and sell the furnishings to the new homeowner. It’s a new concept for customers who want a true ‘move-in ready’ experience.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Finding warehouse space in Austin has been difficult. We know the demand for staging is there, but finding somewhat affordable warehouse space has been a roadblock.
We’ve been impressed with So So Spiffy, but for folks who might need to be more familiar, what can you share about what you do and what sets you apart?
So So, Spiffy started with the philosophy of exceeding expectations. When creating a brand, it is hard to get distracted, but we have always returned to our one message, to give our customers more than they expect. We are a staging company with a retail pop-up. Our staging should always be exceptional. Design is a relatively creative business, but we strive for excellence on every property. If we have done our job, the homeowner will want to scan the QR code provided in the home and buy everything in it! That is the ultimate move-in-ready experience. We are poised to launch the So So Spiffy Shopping Shindig in Austin in late summer ’23. This once-a-month warehouse sale gives the customer fine furnishings at fabulous prices. Pieces used in our design projects are sold at a discount. It’s a unique shopping experience that has been described as a shoppers’ happy place.”
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Drive, persistence, and resourcefulness. Those are the three components I have used as an entrepreneur.
